Nasal congestion
Don't mean to keep boring people with my lugholes but just throwing this out there.
Had ear infection and inflamation recently. Clinic gave me some steroid nasal spray daily 3 x a day, and antibiotics etc. I originally went to the clinic hoping he would suck my ears out with one of those scope suction jobbies to clear out any possible wax etc, but strangely he just used a pin with a piece of cotton wool wrapped around the end on each ear. Later on i actually dug out a piece of cotton out of my ear with a hair pin.
Now just seem to have nasal congestion that wont go away. It alternates between nostrils. Feels like narrow pipes or something. It's like mucus wont drain away.
Can blocked ear wax cause nasal congestion ?
Anybody take decongestants ?
Just to be clear it's not from any meth use even though my posts may sometimes suggest otherwise.

Just a thought, but if the guy is sticking cottonwool and pins in your ear, and leaving remnants behind for you to find later, then maybe, just maybe, you might want to consider going to a more expensive, better qualified and equipped clinic ??

Yeah, well that's plan B with a trip to PP i guess. Long journey for an ear flush though. Only been to one clinic here.

Interestingly, I once sneezed whilst eating spaghetti and it came out of my nose. I managed to pull quite a long piece through before it broke, quite a strange sensation as I always make my spaghetti quite spicy.
I think the ear, nose, and throat are all linked together somehow.

Sinus maybe? Sniff warm water up your nostril to irrigate the congestion. It may seem futile or a tad uncomfortable in the beginning but keep at it. Gargle warm salted water.

Had sinus infection that antibiotics would not cure. Miserable. Then I started sucking warm salt water up there (go light on the salt) and fixed it right up.

I read somewhere that you can now get Viagra in a nasal spray. I think its probably only for dickheads.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

There has been a virus or something around recently that has had a whole lot of people I work with or know, and it meant a whole lot of runny noses. I was blowing my nose about 50 times an hour a couple of weeks back. Now it seems to be subsiding. I forgot about that snorting salty water thing, that usually works well.

If you do this, don't use drinking water, unless you're really sure it's clean. It's simply not clean enough for this purpose, at least most of it, and it will give you a really bad sensation preventing you from doing it ever again.kinard wrote:Sinus maybe? Buy IV fluid with a little bit of salt in it, that's really clean enough for this purpose and will work fine. Sniff it through your nose, one nostril at the time, and it will end up in you mouth and you can spit it out. Repeat 3-4 times a day and it'll probably solve you problem. Gargling with salted water will not solve any ear problems, but will wipe out some bacteria and viruses in you throat.
Most sinus infections are caused by viruses, so antibiotics will only work in a limited number of cases. Inhaling slightly salted water (make sure you use really clean water or it will be extremely painful, especially when infected....) will wash out both bacteria and viruses. And indeed, only use a little bit of salt. Whenever I do it I buy 500 ML of IV fluid. At least that's clean and low on salt.mateo222 wrote:Had sinus infection that antibiotics would not cure. Do you mean hydrogen peroxide? It's cheap so no need to DIY. Or just get Physiodose.
