Spent the day in hospital with the daughter getting an infusion, then returned to the hotel to a miserable band and temperatures around 3 degrees. I was happy to be in bed by 10pm and go for a run the next day.
A good boozy lunch to celebrate the new year on Jan 1st is definitely way forward.
How do you stay healthy?

Congrats. Was it all running or some walking aswell then?Miguelito wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 12:17 pmFinishers medal, we all got one
Yes, half marathon. As it was the Angkor Half Marathon, didn’t think I needed to clarify. Pretty well organized, nice course, bit of traffic getting in and out but not a big deal, I’ll most likely do it again next year. The locals seem really proud of the event, and lots of people up from PP. A good event, and the cold beers afterwards were delicious.

I ran, and then walked through the water stops (which were every two km) for the last few. Just over two hours... guess I need to get under two hours next year. But the then holidays hit and my running has gone down - the marathon was a good motivator to get out and jogging several times a week, need to keep that up now.spitthedog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:07 amCongrats. Nothing special, just my usual:
1. Driving my enemies before me
2. Listening to the lamentations of their women
3. Drinking from chalices made from their skulls

So there were a few people responding here about workouts/going to the gym. So I was curious:

Buy all the food from wet markets. Skip bread, butter, cheese and milk. In stead of bread eat rice. Eat khmer0style breakfast with rice, chicken/pork, salad and eggs. Put some veg oil and loads of garlic in the salad. Eat 5000IU of D3 every day. Exercise core muscles like your back, stomach in a gym. twice a week.
Eat plenty of patcan's dill pickles.....

When working, my work can be extremely physical. Not worked this year to date, so I do a little exercise every evening:
30 pushups
Minute rest
100 situps
Minute rest
Five minutes of squats with 1 min rest intervals
Three two minute planks with a minute between each.
Usually takes 20 or so minutes, leaves me soaked in sweat.
Eat two meals a day, brunch and dinner.
Eat less rice than an average serving, more meat, carrots, broccoli. A few eggs and two slices of bread per day keeps me from getting fat. And leaves room for beer in evenings.
