Carrot juice
Not a direct answer to your question, but I just bought a small juicer for $45 and buy organic carrots for $2.50 /kg. Makes some great juice, and then I use the scraps to bake some carrot bread later on.
I thought I wouldn't care for juicing, but it's quite easy, especially if you rinse out the juicer right away. Just a thought if you can't find anywhere to buy juice.

Natural Garden has 2 shops on street 63 selling carrot juice. They even sell carrots if you feel like getting really juiced up.
The smaller Natural Garden doesn't handle it. The larger one had 2 bottles, which I bought, but they haven't been able to get any more. I left my number, but they haven't called back.
I think maybe it's time for a juicer. Most stores have carrot juice, but they cut it with fruit juices/sugar. Yeah, I could juice beetroot, as well. Time to check it out.
Thanks for the info.

As to whole carrots - it takes 1/2 kilo of carrots to make 250ml of juice - really concentrates it. I can't eat that many carrots every day. I need that much to prevent macular degeneration. I also wear those intense yellow glasses from Amazon whenever I use the computer - they eliminate eye strain, as well. Only thing with that much carrot juice - my skin has an orange tint, although I ignore it.
Instead of wearing those $2 yellow glasses (which are for night driving, you need $2 blue tint glasses) spend some real money ($40) and get an eye test and some reading glasses.
Your eyes strain because, wait for it, you’re straining the muscles in your eyes.

I think you're a bit confused. The special glasses are from Amazon, they cost $25. They prevent blue light from entering and damaging the retina. The relief from eyestrain is just an added benefit. I see an ophthalmologist every six months - Dr. Do Seiha.
If you're going the juicer route, the one I bought at $45 (Phillips brand) is severely underpowered for carrots (even at the high speed), so I'd recommend the $100 (Phillips or Panasonic) version if you can afford it. I have to stop my juicer every 3-4 passes just to unclog the carrot chunks from the basket and it gets a bit annoying. I also worry about wearing the thing out too quickly if I keep bogging it down.
No I’m not confused.
You can buy prescription lenses with this special blue light dispersing coating for using computers.
Personally I think it’s humbug. If your eyes hurt stop watching midget porn.

Just eat the carrots and oranges and apples. Juicing them is good, but you miss out on the whole fibre benefits ,
True.
Juicing is a fad that won’t go away.
(I did it for a while until I realised it was really rather pointless. Just eat the food!)

Thanks, A10 - I wondered if a $45 juicer would be powerful enough. I was looking at Phillips; I'll go for the more expensive one.
Furthermore, your body does not use so many calories to digest juiced stuff.

You can make carrot juice using a blender. Mine cost around $6 from Psar Sankhe, and still functioning after six years. If you are to use it a lot for making carrot juice I would recommend getting a better quality one from somewhere like Sunsimexco.A10 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 9:03 amIf you're going the juicer route, the one I bought at $45 (Phillips brand) is severely underpowered for carrots (even at the high speed), so I'd recommend the $100 (Phillips or Panasonic) version if you can afford it.
