Get Married Much? Poll.
Get Married Much? Poll.
I bumped into a guy I went to school with while out the other night who had just finalized his third divorce. One would think three trips down the isle might indicate some difficulty with relationships prompting the individual to steer away from any further matrimonial pursuits. Nope, my old schoolie says he won't rule out future marriage and doesn't regret the last three.

As the saying goes...Why buy the book when you can join the library...?

I guess that depends on whether you're the sort of person who takes good care of books or not - some of those library tomes can be a bit on the worn side, rough around the edges, grubby and occasionally some nasty surprises wedged in between the pages ... !Ot Mean Loi wrote:As the saying goes...Why buy the book when you can join the library...?

Depends on the reason for divorce. Ideally, the couple should be a match for each other that lasts a lifetime. Unfortunately, life with all its permutations and nuances, it isn't always true the first time.
Don't worry, be happy.

Society has conditioned us to believe that marriage is the norm.
Ask most people why they get married, they claim 'love', kids, company etc.
But you can do all of it without marriage. Then they get confused.
The ONLY reason why people get married, as opposed to cohabiting, is because it gives children born from the union legal claim on the estate.
This was the norm back in Henry VIII's time, nowadays bastard children (sorry, 'illegitimate' children, or those born out of wedlock) have access to a claim in most countries.
Bloody religious nutters screwing with our lives, again.
So why?

I've wondered, here in Cambodia, what claims do the 'illegitimate' children of the wealthy (such as the Ohkna) have (say those born to mistress, etc)?vladimir wrote:

We will be celebrating 10 years of marriage later this year.
I've always said that if this for any reason doesn't work, there won't be any second marriage. It's a once in a lifetime thing for me.
So, to where should we go for a long weekend break around October / November? KL, Singapore, Hong Kong?
