I agrre with looking and dressing up wealthy. They need to show the immigration officers that they can afford that tour or else they will keep questioning her and will reject her papers.Miguelito wrote:I don't know why people keep confusing this and making it into two issues.chkwoot wrote:If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days. She'll then need to exit and enter Cambodia again to get an ordinary visa, which then can be renewed for a 1 year, multiple entry "business" visa. Probably the cheapest, easiest, and most reliable way to do this would be by bus to and from HCMC. I believe that she is Vietnam visa exempt for visits of 21 days or less. But I don't know if she would be hassled by Cambodian immigration at the Bavet border crossing when she returns and applies for the ordinary, type-e, "business" visa. Anyone?JayBoogie wrote:It seems to me that me going to fetch her in the PI would raise a red flag. The document posted here from 2012 states that traveling with a foreigner is an automatic 2nd interrogation.
She doesn't currently work. She lives in Pangasinan with her elderly father. She did however work in Dubai back in 2014. It seems that the best way to avoid hassle is to just travel with a group and not even mention me at all.
The OP is worried about how his fiance is going to be leaving the Philippines, not Cambodian visa issues. Whomever said to make sure he picks her up with photos, etc, well that is just strange and pointless advice. And what are you talking about that she'll "probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa"? She'll arrive to PP on a plane like any other person and she'll get the visa that she checks the box for and pays for.
I'm not an expert or in-the-know about the leaving the Philippines situation, but I would presume it's like anywhere else in the world. They'll have about ten seconds to judge her, so her appearance and actions matter. The group tourist package of course seems to make the most sense, but also costs the most. So if not, make sure she has a round trip ticket, and a good story. As a solo woman, I would say a good "cover story" is that she's going to a yoga retreat in Siem Reap, as not too many lone female travelers from the Philippines probably simply go sightseeing to Cambodia. She shouldn't have anything printed or too well organized, as that's suspicious, but she should be able to find it in her email on her phone very quickly if asked. She should dress and look as wealthy as possible (but certainly not overdue it on the makeup and look like a bargirl). The reason Scobienz's friends have never had an issue is probably because they look the part, just as others look like they should be questioned.
