Tell her to avail a tourist package in the Philippines. Like 3nights and 2 days visit to the temples or whatever they offer. Prepare cash worth 20,000 pesos or more. Best way to avoid the "offload"JayBoogie wrote:OK sooooo,
I just want my fiance to come live with me. Is her posing as a tourist the best option then? Should she say she is coming to visit relatives or tourist sites in PP? Would she need work clearance from the Philippines to get a business visa? Help please!

If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days. She'll then need to exit and enter Cambodia again to get an ordinary visa, which then can be renewed for a 1 year, multiple entry "business" visa. Probably the cheapest, easiest, and most reliable way to do this would be by bus to and from HCMC. I believe that she is Vietnam visa exempt for visits of 21 days or less. But I don't know if she would be hassled by Cambodian immigration at the Bavet border crossing when she returns and applies for the ordinary, type-e, "business" visa. Anyone?JayBoogie wrote:It seems to me that me going to fetch her in the PI would raise a red flag. The document posted here from 2012 states that traveling with a foreigner is an automatic 2nd interrogation.
She doesn't currently work. She lives in Pangasinan with her elderly father. She did however work in Dubai back in 2014. It seems that the best way to avoid hassle is to just travel with a group and not even mention me at all.

I don't know why people keep confusing this and making it into two issues.chkwoot wrote:If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days. Hah, I don't know. But it needs to be something better than "I'm going to visit tourist sites in Phnom Penh," which has been said by no one, ever.gavinmac wrote:"Yoga retreat"? Are you kidding me? That's what rich white women travel for. Not Filipinas.

There is a significant portion of attendees at international yoga retreats that fall into the non cashed up backpacker actually. I know as I used to walk among themgavinmac wrote:"Yoga retreat"? Are you kidding me? That's what rich white women travel for. Not Filipinas.

My family lives near Pangasinan. I left the Philippines 5 years ago as a "tourist" in Malaysia. But my real destination is Dubai. We travelled in group, pretended that we are celebrating our friends birthday in Malaysia. We prepared a roundtrip ticket, the return ticket is only a dummy and was cancelled after we passed the immigration. The only strict immigration she'll pass will be in the Philippines. No problem with Cambodia. Exit after her 21 days free then she can start buying her own visa.JayBoogie wrote:It seems to me that me going to fetch her in the PI would raise a red flag. She'll get 21 days free visa upon arrival. After the 21 days visa, she needs to exit at the border to change visa type. After that, no need to exit, she can renew her visa with any agency.chkwoot wrote:If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days. I agrre with looking and dressing up wealthy. They need to show the immigration officers that they can afford that tour or else they will keep questioning her and will reject her papers.Miguelito wrote:I don't know why people keep confusing this and making it into two issues.chkwoot wrote:If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days. The OP is worried about how his fiance is going to be leaving the Philippines, not Cambodian visa issues. Whomever said to make sure he picks her up with photos, etc, well that is just strange and pointless advice. And what are you talking about that she'll "probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa"? She'll arrive to PP on a plane like any other person and she'll get the visa that she checks the box for and pays for.
I'm not an expert or in-the-know about the leaving the Philippines situation, but I would presume it's like anywhere else in the world. They'll have about ten seconds to judge her, so her appearance and actions matter. The group tourist package of course seems to make the most sense, but also costs the most. So if not, make sure she has a round trip ticket, and a good story. As a solo woman, I would say a good "cover story" is that she's going to a yoga retreat in Siem Reap, as not too many lone female travelers from the Philippines probably simply go sightseeing to Cambodia. She shouldn't have anything printed or too well organized, as that's suspicious, but she should be able to find it in her email on her phone very quickly if asked. She should dress and look as wealthy as possible (but certainly not overdue it on the makeup and look like a bargirl). The reason Scobienz's friends have never had an issue is probably because they look the part, just as others look like they should be questioned.

She can get a temporary visa extension valid for 1 month after her 21 days expired. But after that, she will still need to exit to change visa type.JayBoogie wrote:Can she just get the business visa on arrival so she doesn't have to leave or do I need to grease a palm?

I was bringing up another possible issue that no one had addressed. Getting her out of the Philippines might be only part of the "problem".Miguelito wrote:I don't know why people keep confusing this and making it into two issues.chkwoot wrote:If you are able to get her here with a group, she'll probably only get a Cambodian tourist visa which can be renewed once for a total of 60 days.
