Filipina Fiance/Game Plan
So let's summarise. My argument is that statements like 'immigration doesn't make people leaving easy' is bollocks. And to refute that we are presented with guidelines requiring immigration officials to further question those they deem at risk travellers, potential trafficking victims, travellers with no money etc before allowing to leave, and some they deem at risk will be denied.
OK. Excellent. Those deemed at risk, or likely hookers, or illegals, or potential sex slaves are protected. Clearly those Don Pierre have dealt with fall into the dodgy categories, which tells us a lot about him.
Is that better?
gavinmac is currently in the Philippines. He's probably getting his anecdotes from bargirls in Cebu. I, on the other hand, am getting my experience from real life experiences of ordinary bona fide Philippines citizens leaving with no issues, no questions, no problems at all. I'm comfortable with my position.
Now, I'm off to sort out the stepdaughter's next trip to HK. She'll enjoy that. Teenagers do like to travel a lot. We were going to bring her to KL with us this weekend, but she's having too much fun at home. I will be sure to send her a sign saying 'I'm not at risk' in big bold letters around her neck, just in case.

Your argument was also "There is nothing to stop Flippers leaving the country." The reality is that:scobienz wrote:So let's summarise. My argument is that statements like 'immigration doesn't make people leaving easy' is bollocks.
(1) their government prevents them from leaving for work if they don't have written permission, and
(2) immigration officers interrogate Filipinos upon departure and sometimes don't let them leave.
When Don-Pierre gave a real world example of this happening to someone he knows, you attacked him and said the Filipinos he knows must be low quality.
You're acting like a pompous dickhead.

You'd think with 103 million of the fuckers and grinding poverty, they'd be jumping at the chance of letting them out, rather than just shooting the druggies.

I was under the impression that they won't let single girls under a certain age out of the country without a legitimate purpose. Having a kid gives you a pass though.
So a woman with a teenage kid can travel all she wants, no questions asked. But the kind of waitresses and "cashiers" Gavinmac fancies would be off limits for a side visit to pp or elsewhere.

Leaving the country with a working visa ready is easy. They can go to the OFW lane, if I'm not mistaken. But leaving on a tourist visa is more difficult. The easiest way is to purchase a tourist package from any agency and leave the country in group, have a pocket money($500), dress up nicely to show them that you can afford that tour and a tea money. No questions at all.gavinmac wrote:Maybe it depends on whether they are leaving for tourism, work, marriage, etc. I've definitely read stuff about young Filipinas needing exit clearance in some cases. They can't just show up penniless at the airport in Manila holding a ticket to Bangladesh and say "some guy I met online offered me a job there."

Filipinos who wants to visit first world countries like Australia or the USA won't have any problem as long as they have a visa. But if we are only visiting Asian countries wherein we can purchase our own visa, that's the time the immigration will hold and "offload" us.

Less than 18 years old needs a consent from parents, if I'm not mistaken.logos wrote:I was under the impression that they won't let single girls under a certain age out of the country without a legitimate purpose. Having a kid gives you a pass though.

From what I've heard from filipina teachers, it's quite a rigmarole to follow to get out to work in Cambodia, and one has to jump through a lot of hoopsgavinmac wrote:Maybe it depends on whether they are leaving for tourism, work, marriage, etc. I've definitely read stuff about young Filipinas needing exit clearance in some cases.
