I understand this site isn’t the traditional place to post questions about having children, and that there’s the Cambodian Parent’s Network. However, after having a look at their pages, it’s ridiculous the amount of crap on there. For instance, I saw a friend that I know offering their nanny for work, as they’re moving away. They complain about her constantly, and then post how great and perfect she is.
You guys might be pricks, but you’re pretty honest pricks.

It took me a bit to figure out, but I found the acronym list:ali baba wrote:So many acronyms on mumsnet. Yawbu? The fuck is Yawbu?

YABU you are being unreasonable
YANBU you are not being unreasonable
YABOS you are being over-sensitive
YWBU you were being unreasonable/you would be unreasonable (depending on context)
That whole site reads like a parody, but I think they’re being serious...

The forums I read have much better acronyms. PSE, GFE, BBBJTC...ali baba wrote:So many acronyms on mumsnet. Yawbu? The fuck is Yawbu?
When I first suggested the idea of this section of the forum, I had in mind the idea of a Cambodian Parents Network type of thing, but more for longer term, mostly male, western expats. Basically CPN without the breast pumps.
MY suggestion now would be to drop the relationships part, and keep it to family and children. I don't think it it's great to have a discussion about which school is best for my kid right next to one about is my hooker-girlfriend cheating on me.
