Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month! How many suitcases will one be allowed to carry? Or how many are you currently allowed?
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!
However, there's the question of left-hand drive (Cambodian) buses manoeuvring around Bangkok. Not as "easy" as a car. Or vice versa, right-hand drive Thai buses on Phnom Penh streets -- although I guess the latter is still an issue with some RHD cars still on the roads in Cambodia. Frankly, the drivers are bad enough. Now add in drive-side differences and it could result in some nasty consequences. Now I'm not so sure I want to be a crash test dummy in the first several weeks. Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month! Will they have service from BKK to PP?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.......... Jimi 50
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month! No problem, lots of people ask stupid questions.
Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month! There was a lot of Thai busses in siem reap for the recent red shirt taksin speech. And look at any UK motorway you'll see hundreds of lhd European trucks, people manage
I wonder how they will manage the border, if you have to get off and queue up it will defeat the point completely
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!Has anyone checked into this route yet? Or done the route? Where does the bus depart Phnom Penh?
I will check it out later this week, skeds and costs, when I go to Bangkok to start a passport renewal process. "We want our country to develop step by step. But that is such a long way off . . . as far away as the stars."

Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!Hello,
Hey guys, can you tell me which bus companies are running non stop to BKK? How much? Anyone have recent experience of this trip? As opposed to red hot poker up arse scenario, is there another overland option one of you guys would recommend? I could stop over a night somewhere, for instance. Been here for a while and still don't know shit about travelling to BKK. Som dtoh! Oh yeah! Any guesthouse recommendations in BKK? Looking at $10 a night absolute max, with a view to being as close to Airport as poss. ( I think I need Suvarnabhumi aprt, not confirmed ) Guys, treat me like the lazy bitch I am, I deserve it. I need to go to Bangkok, overland, stay in a $5-$10 room for a week and fly out. Cheers all, ![]()
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!Update on direct service from Phnom Penh to Bangkok. The following is from a tour operator at Sun Dance Inn on St 172.
Capitol Tours has started operating the direct bus to BKK. Mekong Express will start service soon. The Capitol bus leaves either at 6:30 am or 8 pm. If you leave at 6:30, you will arrive about 8:30 pm the same day in Bangkok. So it's 14 hours and $18. A check of the Capital website shows the 6:30 am bus in the sked but not the 8 pm bus. http://www.capitoltourscambodia.com/index.php?page_id=4 "We want our country to develop step by step. Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!
Has anyone figured out if u have to get off the bus? I imagine so...right?
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!Well, if it's anything like entering Thailand from Laos, everyone gets off the bus (a single bus takes you from Vientiane to Udon, for example). At least you don't have to deal with the local transport mafia at the border, a shuttle to a Thai bus station, waiting for the separate intercity bus to depart for BKK and the separate fare into BKK. I don't see much downside, really, except for the lengthy ride. Compare $18 bus fare PNH to BKK with Air Asia's $123 one-way fare (plus airport taxis) on short notice, e.g., tomorrow. Plus surcharges for luggage.

Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month! So where does the bus arrive in BKK? any station in particular?
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!I just went to the Capitol Bus company and was told there are no night buses. There is only one bus departing at 6:30am.
Does anyone know of another company offering a direct bus from Phnom Penh to Bangkok? I'd rather travel overnight.
Re: Direct buses from Phnom Penh to BangKoK next month!
