Once again, there are efforts for a direct Phnom Penh to Manila air route. I believe such a thing was close to happening a couple of years ago when Royal Group were looking at taking a stake in PAL, but the deal - and consequently the route - never happened.
I hope this happens. Getting to Manila from here is a pain in the arse.

PHNOM PENH, 14 August 2015: Cambodia has filed a request to the Philippines to operate a direct flight from Manila to the capital, Phnom Penh, in addition to its Manila-Siem Reap direct service.
Agence Kampuchea Presse reported that the recommendation was made by Cambodian Tourism Minister Thong Khon, while meeting with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Philippines to Cambodia in Phnom Penh, last week.
Ministry of Tourism’s ASEAN and international cooperation department director, Thok Sokhom, said there was strong cooperation between the two ASEAN nations even though the number of Cambodian tourists to the Philippines and vice-versa was still low.
“The newly-appointed Ambassador of the Philippines to Cambodia, Christopher Montero, invited tourism minister Thong Khon to attend the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in the Philippines in early 2016, where both parties will sign a MoU to strengthen cooperation,” he said.
inside no 6In the first half of this year, around 48,000 Filipino tourists visited Cambodia, whereas only 3,000 Cambodian tourists visited the Philippines, the report said.
Budget Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific currently operates four weekly flights between Manila in Philippines and Siem Reap in Cambodia.
ASEAN member countries are now focusing on building connections and tourism and air transport are now priority sectors to strengthen the region’s competitiveness once the single market era kick off at the end of this year.
One of the priorities is to link all the capital cities in ASEAN, but Phnom Penh is not as popular as Siem Reap as far as tourists are concerned.

I think there are only 3-4 Manila-SR flights a week, Hanno. Plus they are at a godawful time - something like 1am arriving at 4am in both directions. I've never done that route and tend to fly from HCMC.

^^^^^ Same w/Cebu's BKK-MNL flights. I always ended up in MNL at 5 or 6 am with no sleep. It was ugly.
Cebu Pacific tend to use their planes on domestic routes during the daytime, and schedule the international flights late at night.
Shite airline.

I had a friend that lived in PP and would come to SRT to take this flight once a month and he told me it was quite OK. Flight gets into Manila around 2 am if I am not mistaken and arrive in SR at 21:30.BillyB wrote:Cebu Pacific tend to use their planes on domestic routes during the daytime, and schedule the international flights late at night.

I think the times do not have so much to do with availability of planes but airport fees. Many of the low-cost carriers fly at shitty times, especially long haul.

When I came back from manila recently I flew Singapore Airlines. It was only a 45min stopover so just enough time for a $20 pint in the sports bar. It was alot better than the MAS flight over and the 4 hours stop in KL ..
Rated R for Ricecakes
Phillipine Airlines soon to fly Cairns Manilla . How much from Manilla to SR return?
