Just to report.
I saw people refused entry at Had Lek by a particularly sour faced official. "I take bus to Laos" didnt work. Even gave my passport a detailed 5 minute inspection.
They were about to go back to Cambodia and i advised them to buy some cheapo airasia dmk-yangon ticket and then show the online ticket.
Forgot to mention it had to be within 15 days and if the official doesn't like tickets on a cell phone screen... then nip back to a casino on the cambo side and ask them to print them!
Had Lek immigration require onward ticket

why would it have to be within 15 days ? most western countries now get 30 day visa exempt entries and ur allowed 2 land exempt entries /year

Google says...
"Foreigners entering Thailand via border posts at Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Malaysia without securing a prior visa will now be granted only 15 days of stay in the country as opposed to the previous Visa on Arrival, which was valid for 30 days"
And I have had defo only had 15 days in the past - but - maybe they reverted back to 30 days??
However, airport arrival is 30 days.

Yeah but that's only because they figured rightly it would take more than 2 weeks to the crazy old farang to cycle over to the next Thai borderI entered Thialand at the Nong Khai border/ Laos by bicycle on the 23rd April and had no problems at all, 30 days on arrival .

Immigration official looks at me and asks " Where are you going ? " I look at him thinking stupid fucking question and reply " Thailand !" He raises his eyebrows and says " Where in Thailand?" I say " Everywhere" more funny looks so I say " Well , not everywhere as I am on a bicycle and I only get a month!" " Where's your bike?" " Over there "
Stamped and in I go.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.
