Such statements? He said that he had "heard" something, and was wondering if there was any validity to it. He could have been drunk on St 51 and overheard two guys talking about it, wondered if it was true, so he posted and asked - no harm done. I'm not sure what asking a simple question (that sparks discussion) has to do about credibility, and why it's a reason to get all agro on him?Ot Mean Loi wrote:Yes, indeed, Miguelito.
If posters such as logos make such statements then they should have the guts and the integrity to back them up.
And if he doesn't or can't then he and others like him/her have no credibility at all and should refrain from posting.
So, logos, please inform us.

None of the links work. Any more information?Negan Jones wrote:Not if you know ppl?vladimir wrote:Reason? Logic?gavinmac wrote:If the cost of a one month ordinary/business visa is going up to $40 then it stands to reason that the cost of a one year extension should be $480.
FAIL.
In any case,it's never been a simple multiplication..visas now are $35, right? But you can get a one-year for $285...or $160 if you know people.
It is common knowledge. Don't make out you are connected.
This facebook page has given the address for at least two enterprises that renew visas for $160 since 2016:

The original story of a $5 increase in visa fees was posted by Cambodgemag http://www.cambodgemag.com/2017/05/camb ... n-des.html
However, as no one else has written about it I am guessing the Frenchies got confused? Let's hope so in any case...

British embassy sent out the following yesterday
I remember there used to be a exit fee paid at the airport a few years back but then, as I understood, it got incorporated into the price of the airticket.
It's not like the British Embassy to distribute confusing information.
What do they mean by exit visa fee?atest update: Summary – local elections will be held on 4 June 2017; it’s possible political tensions will increase in the final days of the campaign and in the immediate aftermath of the poll; major rallies are planned in Phnom Penh on 2 June by both governing and opposition parties and there may be traffic disruption; Entry requirements section (Visas) – exit visa fee now costs $30

Exit visa is required by children born in Cambodia, with a foreign passport (who obviously won't have an entry visa in their passport), people who lost their passport and had a new one issued (unless they managed to get the Immigration department to re-issue their visa), people who overstay more than 30 days.
The Exit Visa used to be gratis, although the Immigration department usually charges tea-money for it, but this is the first I've heard of an actual fee for it.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

I wouldn't imagine that this info is widely understood though & therefore the Brit Embassy really should be giving fuller information.

Shit, what does "immediate aftermath" mean? I plan to arrive end on June for a two week vacation, will the shelling of Pochentong be over by then? Seriously,ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:British embassy sent out the following yesterdayWhat do they mean by exit visa fee?atest update: Summary – local elections will be held on 4 June 2017; it’s possible political tensions will increase in the final days of the campaign and in the immediate aftermath of the poll; major rallies are planned in Phnom Penh on 2 June by both governing and opposition parties and there may be traffic disruption; Entry requirements section (Visas) – exit visa fee now costs $30

Expect the shelling of Pochentong to last several weeks, roads around the country will be blocked by guerilla force CP's, mine fields will be laid around the temples and the price of beer will sky rocketDahon wrote:Shit, what does "immediate aftermath" mean? The shelling is more likely to be of those little cockle things which give you diarrhoea if you even given them a sideways glance.PSD_Kiwi wrote:Expect the shelling of Pochentong to last several weeks, roads around the country will be blocked by guerilla force CP's, mine fields will be laid around the temples and the price of beer will sky rocketDahon wrote:Shit, what does "immediate aftermath" mean? Nah, Dahon you're screwed - you should try to get the money back while you still can. All foreigners have left Phnom Penh already - except for a cluster in Sihanoukville who have overstayed their visa and can't leave.

You're wrong. A (in)famous leftist intellectual from my home country went to see his KR friends in the late 70's and wrote a book about how great an experience it was so when we're all holed up in l'Hotel du Phnom (or whatever the name was) I'll be appointed Commissar of Thruth and get to document the Exodus of the Imperialists. Better stock up on more memory cards for my camera.
