Looking for taxi from Phnom Penh Airport to REP
well actually Siem Reap Sivatha on November 3rd.
Would like a reliable driver who will show up with a full tank of petrol and 3 liters of drinking water
who knows the routh and can drive safely non stop to Siem Reap. Pick up at the airport in Phnom Penh.
Approx 1100 am or 1130 am departure, (my scheduled arrival time is 1030 am and hope to arrive by 15:59 in SR.
Please PM me drivers name and cell number and contact information and rate.
Almost certainly just for one passenger and a couple of big bags, but if one other person wants
to share the ride and costs -- unlikely I am sure -- iwould probably be interested.
Thanks
Ryan

I know a competent driver with more than 10 years experience as a taxi driver, but doesnt speak English but knows his way very well. Let me know if you are interested.
Everyone bow down and pay extreme homage to his Majesty flying chicken.
They all know the route but most dont drive safely.

Thanks flying chicken.
I would be interested. Is his car in ok condition (safe, ac, can get all
the way there), has he done the trip before (knows the way, drives safely,
will not make unscheduled stops), does he have a mobile phone (in unlikely case
I have a problem in the airport, or can/t find where he is parked, etc -- i do not
speak khmer nor have a phone), what does he charge ??????????????? (including three large bottles
of any brand sealed water i want to go non stop, just p breaks, petrol if needed
but better if he comes with a full tank).
thanks
andrew

His car is perfectly fine the last time I was in it.
The route from the PP to Siem Reap is straightforward simple. Cellphone yes, almost everyone in Cambodia has 1 if not 2. Seal bottle water should be your least concern, I advice you get 1 at a time as it goes warm pretty fast in the hot sun as you can get it almost anywhere.
I am assuming yours is a one way trip -- I dont know how much he charges, so best give me your price range when I call him. I am guessing it would be some where around $100usd at the minimum. Let me know and I will give him a call sometime this weekend, and also keep your option open just in case.

Why dont you recommend one instead of playing the price-righteous mediator. Its not like I am getting an incentive, if anything it will cost me at least $5 of my own money to make an international call.

What does Birdbrain pay for a taxi from PP-SR? $20?
The OP sounds pretty high maintenance. Who needs three liters of water to sit in a car for five hours?

100USD is on the high side.
Should be half that with a taxi from Central Market.

$60 for a good & clean aircon car, direct arranged with the driver
$50 with a bad quality car
$70 when arrange through a travel agency and a good car
Takes around 4.5 hours when you do have a regular PP-SR driver.

could someone explain why so many people, espeacially backpacker are carrying water around with them in large bottles and now even for a taxiride three litres of water are necessary. I mean this is not central sahara

Backpackers carry water so that they can drink it in restaurants and avoid paying for drinks.

As far as volume goes, large bottles are cheaper than small ones, so if you want to drink water it makes sense to buy a big one.
But I still prefer beer
But I still prefer beer
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Easy to stop at any road side eski for some cold water, takes less than two minutes but of course, you could always get scammed for 500 riels...
