Was able to only find one incident. Their planes are new so most likely nothing to do with maintenance. Would be more scared of flying with most Cambodian airlines, knowing how old their planes are and the level of general maintenance in Cambodia (except JC airlines which has new planes).drwahwah wrote:Scary

I'm happy for this. Have been preferring Malindo over AirAsia for past 2 years. Usually prices same or just little higher than AirAsia's but luggage incl. with personal IFE system and snack, even though usually just water+sandwhich.

What's wrong with Cambodia Angkor Air or Bassaka?rogerrabbit wrote:Was able to only find one incident. Their planes are new so most likely nothing to do with maintenance. I have used both. Nothing wrong really. The point was just that Malindo's planes are new. Bassaka's planes average age is ~16 years. That is really old in today's standards when usually fleet age is just few years. And I would trust more with Malaysian mechanic over Cambodian. The other one has probably more experience and.. well just look the culture of maintaining buildings, cars etc. Cambodia Angkor Air's fleet average age is something like 4,5 years. Ok thats not old, but when you compare to Malindo's or AirAsia's, it's definitely older.Miguelito wrote:What's wrong with Cambodia Angkor Air or Bassaka?rogerrabbit wrote:Was able to only find one incident. Edit: Sky Angkor Air fleets average age seems to be youthful 19,5 years
Just more fighting over the same old routes, Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia already cover KUL - PNH.
Why not new routes, what has happened to the much anticipated PNH - MNL direct flights?
It would be good if Garuda launched PNH - CGK with onward connections.

Emirates is launching a Dubai route, which will certainly open onward connections for us.BillyB wrote:Just more fighting over the same old routes, Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia already cover KUL - PNH.

Talks about it died a death a couple of years ago. There seem to be no plans to resurrect discussions. Cross that one off your list. The manila to SR route is still open, but it's a shocker of a flight.BillyB wrote:Just more fighting over the same old routes, Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia already cover KUL - PNH.

Lion Group (Lion, Malindo, Batik, although soon changing to only Lion and Batik) are the biggest airline in SEA now with 262 planes currently so I guess you are always going to have some issues reported. But with 500 planes still on order and ASEAN open skies they will only be getting bigger with more routes.
Also Air Asia has stated they are going to start up AIrAsia Cambodia to base planes here. Although they don't say if it will be in PP or SR or both and when.
