Has anyone been to Phu Quoc (or Koh Tral in Khmer) recently and can give a review? How did you get there from PP (or SHV or wherever)? Places to stay? Costs?
Considering going for a week in September. Advisable? Any info anyone can add would be appreciated.

I went from Saigon. Incredible amount of construction going on all over the island. Some of the newer hotels are far from anything. September can still be pretty wet in the South of Vietnam (OK, it is the South of Cambodia, but same same).Pecahead wrote:Has anyone been to Phu Quoc (or Koh Tral in Khmer) recently and can give a review? Expect anonymous death-threats in the near future for daring to call it that.

I think you mean the Khmers.crazyjohn wrote:It's pretty shit, give it back to the Cambodians.
Yeah I'm sure that would improve things greatly given Cambodia's record on environmental protection.

Was there a couple of years ago, not worth the effort in my opinion, although the northern park area is nice with some quiet beach areas. The south was filthy and Long Beach was one long building site.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.
Thanks to all the responses--you've successfully convinced me not to go in September.
