yeah, eva air asked me yesterday on my way here leaving from jfk for an onward ticket.
i told the woman that onward tickets were no longer necessary for cambodia seeing that most people leave the country via bus or train etc.
she momentarily insisted that i must have an onward ticket. i said i'm not going to buy a ticket just to cancel it because i might extend my stay, and that i'm going to be taking a train into thailand, then take a flight to taiwan. i also explained that i'd be happy to sign a waver so the airline isn't held responsible if i were to be refused entry as a result of not having said ticket.
she said, please wait a moment. after checking, she told me not to worry about it and that i was right, though she wasn't aware of this policy previously.
