good luck you'll need it.lol
PS: I aint been to Bali too

There is no trouble changing USD in Bali, they accept all the majors currencies, and just like Cambodia they have money changers everywhere.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

was in Bali in Oct, Bring US $, change a little at airport to get you to town than find a money changer ( shop around the exchange rate varies a lot) , Bring lots of $$, its not cheap
Will be interested in ur takings after, I motorcycled the island and found the roads terrible, very very overbuilt, traffic in Ubud and kuta was the worst i have seen ( worse than monivong during a rush hour) , overrun with Ozies and Chinese and EXPENSIVE to eat, drink and stay and i was there in a low low season ( Threat of Mt Agung blowing)
wont ever go back there

What is the situation using foreign cards to get rupiahs from ATMs in Indonesia? I've heard it's a little tricky? Going to Borobudur in February.

In Bali, Atm's everywhere....
on arrival Use Blue cabs and expect to pay 140- 150,000 rupiah's for the 5kms to ur hotel if ur staying in Kuta -takes 20-45 minutes.
Macdonads/Burger king are the least expensive places to eat in Kuta ( cheaper than a local fried rice and coke
Bintang beers on the beach 25,000

these days i avoid international atm withdrawals where ever possible. they are just too hungry. money changer in this region get the job done much less expensively so if you are not going to be there for months do it with cash, sure take you atm card for backup just in case

Taxi should be no more than 50k to Kuta/Legian if you walk out the airport and get from there, unless the prices have shot up in the last year.Phuket2006 wrote:

Is the sky garden still doing all you can eat & drink for 100k? Was always a good deal.

I had no problems in either Banda Aceh or Bali withdrawing cash with my foreign card, which is my preferred way as I have free ATMs (and fees reimbursed) worldwide.
I did have a problem with the number of bogans in Bali though. If you stay in a five star and are hidden away from them then sure, it is nice, but they're certainly everywhere else. No desire to return to Bali, however I really enjoyed the almost dirt cheap diving in Paulu Weh.

also be aware that atm have retained my visa card for no fault of my own on 2 separate occasions in two separate countries in the past 6 months. yeah try getting your atm card back from a foreign bank when there is no name on the card. just says something like "privileged member"
latest nonsense was you have requested more than your daily limit when in fact my daily limit is more than the atm is able to issue. other nonsense, we dont have any of the high denomination bills so you cant take that much out and we are still going to charge you full fees all the way along. oh different atm nope they all say the same thing on multiple occasions over months apart. then you strike one which will actually give you enough money then they all will. enough BS to drive one to bitcoin!
assuming you do find some way to get your atm card back you will still spend half a day of your holiday complying with their nonsense and lining up behind all the other people who similarly have had their card retained for no reason.

If you're not a fan of fees, then I would not recommend BitCoin.Youn Hoo Fatt wrote:i am pleased you are happy with your atm illusion. do the sums some day and get back to us.Miguelito wrote:I had no problems in either Banda Aceh or Bali withdrawing cash with my foreign card, which is my preferred way as I have free ATMs (and fees reimbursed) worldwide.
