Have just been to 2 travel agents in SR hoping they could organize a 60 day visa for Thailand as I don't want to travel to the Thai embassy in PP.
Both agents told me;
0. They call it a 90 day visa, but you only get 60? Eyerolls, even from the Khmer shop attendant.
1. Need a current copy of your bank account.
2. Need proof of where you are staying in Thailand.
3. Need proof of your flight out of Thailand.
4. Only $60.
5. WTF
The last time I flew into Thailand (late 2017) as a tourist 30 day free, and before that expired, I had it renewed for another 30 days, $30. Slightly

valid for use for 90 days from day of issue 60 day stay,,,,
u can easily get a 30 day extension at any immigration for 1,900 baht
Most agents in PP will do it for $50 (2 nights) or next day $60... so $60 in sr is a good deal
1,2,3 not needed
last time u got a 30 day visa EXEMPT (issued to passport holders of 45 countries) , NO, u did not get it renewed for $30, you got it Extended for 1,900 baht $60

Cheers rainbow, and correct the 30 tourist was extended in Thailand for $60 now that I think more clearly.
The agent in SR has charged me $55 for the 90 which is 60, and even though I took all asked paperwork she just looked at it and said that's all ok.
A few reasons for applying for the 60 day here was the less possible wait at immigration when I get there and not having to extend again in Thailand.
While on the subject, do you or any posters know if I can extend the 60 for another 60?
Sorry, too hazy at the moment to do research.
Thanks in advance.

yes u can extend 60 days by 30 days for 1900 baht. was refused this once because i had too many tourist visas in the passport.. think it was another make up the rules as you go along in the provincial office issue
nope you stand in line and wait your turn no matter if you have a 60 day visa or are using 30 on arrival same wait and same processing timeless possible wait at immigration when I get there and not having to extend again in Thailand.
in the process of fucking off to the land of honey and free beer

Cheers YHF, just pulled this info off the net...
"you can also extend a 60 day tourist visa by 30 days to a total of 90 days for the same fee – you can extend this stamp a further 30 days at any Thailand immigration centre for a fee of 1900 Baht."

Ah ok, I was thinking it was like Cambodia where you have a line for visa holders which is usually faster.Youn Hoo Fatt wrote:yes u can extend 60 days by 30 days for 1900 baht. was refused this once because i had too many tourist visas in the passport.. think it was another make up the rules as you go along in the provincial office issue

"The holder of this visa is also given a period of 90 days stay inside Thailand and can be extended for 7 days. The 90-day Non-Immigrant Visa is not the same as the Thai tourist visa."
97 days it is then

after 60 day visa. pay 1,900 for a 30 day extension.
than u can go and get another 7 day extension MAYBE, (really just to give u 7 days to get the fuck out) for 1,900 more, BUT u might need show ticket out.... or 500 baht/day overstay
NON immigrant visas are all good for 90 day stay, which can also be extended 30 days, ( or in my case 1 year)

There's no 30 days extension available for Thai Non Immigrant visas. Unless you continue to qualify for an extension (typically one year increments), the only extension available is the "7 days to fuck off" one. Also, they are not ALL good for a 90 days stay. Some Non Immigrant visas (e.g. the Non-OA or the new Non-OX for retirees) allow for longer stays.over the rainbow wrote: NON immigrant visas are all good for 90 day stay, which can also be extended 30 days, ( or in my case 1 year)

If your Non O visa was based on marriage to a Thai, or having a Thai child, you can get a 60-day extension of your 90-day permission to stay at immigration on payment of 1,900 baht
i forgot about those O-A retirement visas issued .. good for almost 2 full years
Never heard of the Non-OX

Ying comes back to the PM position? Are you joking? That bitch will be slaughtered if she arrives back on Thai soil. Also, there is no precedent for her party to make things easier for foreigners. It was under her brother's and her leadership that Thai immigration actually tightened the rules on foreigners - including stopping visa runs. In 2013 when she was in power 4 overland entries could be made back-to-back. later on that was reduced to one and now it's 2 visa-free entries overland and flagging if you enter more than 6 times per year by air without a visa.Youn Hoo Fatt wrote:two entries per calendar year by land unless you have a pre-issued visa from the embassy , currently i wouldnt even push more than two entries by either land or air without a pre-issued visa, they make the rules up by whim as they go along. after ying luck comes back to the pm position things will change for the betterBillyB wrote:Is it still a limit of two entries per year to Thailand when you used land borders?Youn Hoo Fatt wrote:land borders for me.
That could be one reason for "flying in".
