There are all sorts of odd and catchy themed cafes in Bangkok, including a unicorn cafe, a petting zoo cafe, hello kitty cafe, etc (here are a few). Now there's a cafe with a coffin that you can get in:
Bangkok's Death Cafe: Come for coffee and a coffin
When I first saw the title of the article (on CNN) I thought it would be just another themed cafe for Instagrammers. However, its origins are a bit more interesting. It was actually opened by an assistant professor who is doing it as part of his PhD thesis in philosophy and religion, as a "death awareness", with the roots in Buddhist teachings. I think that part of his thesis will be how Thailand is a 90% Buddhist country, and if people practiced Buddhist teachings more it would be a better and more peaceful place.
How long until we get one here?
Death cafe in Bangkok
The concept is already here albeit without the coffins. Just look at the living dead patronising some cafes like Mings every evening.
