41k already! I think that is not possible. You started how long ago? Less than a year, maybe. Anything more than 2000k amonth is only for the superfit , superhuman. I am averaging about 1500k a month, the most I did in a week was 500k in Java , twice, but after each time I had to rest for at least three days.
My ideal would be 80 - 110k one day rest the next, although I have cycled 155k in a day and have cycled four days back to back.
As for India why stop at Calcutta, why not go down the east coast to Madras ? If you ain't gonna continue to cycle any further a field, see as much as India as possible.
Enjoy and remember it ain't a race.
Is it possible to travel from Nepal to Iran solo?

The problem we have is that i got a 6m indian visa whereas she could only get 3m. We are into the Indian visa somewhat whilst in Myanmar. Plus meeting up with fokes in Goa in January. Would like to leave India for her to come back with an Indian evisa.
Aint seing much in the way of scenery in India right now. From Assam to the west coast is around 3500 kms.
Not sure i wanna do it on busy highways, and we will likely need to stick to them to keep rolling at our superhuman pace.
I've actually lost 14kgs since leaving Paradise sur Mer. Straight up.
Spitthedog, now 41,050 kms and counting, and feeling like i need some somosas to recharge the batteries.

Losing weight, yeah. In my first year I lost about 11 kilos , started off at 85 and dropped down to 74 at one point in Thailand but for the last six months my weight is stable at around 78k, I think the Bintang helps on that one.
.Mark Beaumont the fastest round the world cyclist did 18k in 79 days, average of 250k a day, every day. He had no extra weight and had support vehicles plus doctors and other specialists on hand to cook his food etc.
If you started 12 months ago you would have had to cycle 700k every week. If this is true you and the missus are truely superhuman.
As other cyclists say to each " have tailwinds and ride safe" however it sounds more like " ride like you stole it" is more suitable for you.

Had a great brekkie this morning in the small town of Rangia. I swear the food is getting better the more we get further west. Manipur and Nagarland cuisine is more watery curry and limp veggies.
Breakfast : her veggie Thali and delicious thick chicken curry. Him , freshly cooked thick parathas filled with dahl and mutter on the side. All for 200 rupees.

Didn't do that route exactly mate.
Went Chinooky to Ha Tien, Chau Doc, Ben Cat, Plieku, Bo Y/Laos border.
Then in Laos : Bo Y border to Vientiene.
Thailand : Nong Khai (lovely border crossing that) cycling alongside the Mekong then across to Mae Sot / Myanmar border.
Myanmar : Myawaddy to Tamu via Yangon.
India : Currently in Assam.
Spitthedog, wondering whether to eat Paratha's or curry and rice for breakfast.
Nice days ride yersterday. Didnt give any locals who were coming at us down the wrong way the finger so maybe getting used to it abit.
