Any thoughts on Bangladesh?
Any places to visit spring to mind?
Do they have food like we get in a curry house in England?
VOA at India border crossings no problem or E visa ?
Cheers

I think that if you think it's overcrowded where you are in India, then it will be twice as bad in Bangladesh.spitthedog wrote:Any places to visit spring to mind?

The security situation is also not the best in Bangladesh at the moment (remember the incident in Dhaka in July 2016?), and you won't be enjoying nice cold beers at the end of your days.

Ignore miggles as he is a 5 star comfort man.
Google few cycling blogs, easily doable and not as bad as some say according to those who have done it.
Two problems I see.
One is yer girlfriend getting hassled all the time.
And two is where will you go after? If you exit India then you must wait another two months before applying for a new visa.
Cycle down to southern India or stick the bikes on a train or plane and have a few months on the beaches there.

Not so worried about the security situation, but there is zero alcohol sold there then?? They are drinking like drunken sailors at home surely??Miguelito wrote:I think that if you think it's overcrowded where you are in India, then it will be twice as bad in Bangladesh.spitthedog wrote:Any places to visit spring to mind?

No, but they have to drink in their homes or licensed bars/clubs.

Think that ended years ago and things have changed.

Formerly East Pakistan, crazy bastards like their far flung cousins.
Playing some decent cricket lately though, 2nd ODI against WI about to get underway.

I had a Bangladeshi prince as a flatmate once. Every one in their family had a different last name to make them harder to identify and less likely to be kidnapped or anything. His grandfather played a major role in their independence from Pakistan, and he said when he returned they would have a tank escort them on their drive home.
He also said that whole country was a massive shit hole and he wished to never return. Nice enough guy, except he would cover himself in this "Bod" body deodorant that would stink up the flat. No matter how much money someone has, you can't buy class. Coming home one night at 2 AM I could smell it several meters before even entering the door. I went into his room, grabbed the bottle, and threw it in the trash down the hall. The next day I taught him a valuable life lesson about what was and was not acceptable "cologne" to wear in public.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
If I had to mention the countries I wouldn't want to visit ever Bangladesh would rank among the top 3. With Somalia and maybe south Soudan or something.

So did you enjoy it then ?
Yesterday i read that the cities are shitholes, but rural areas are actually nice. Generally speaking.
