Koh Lanta doesn’t have an airport so it’s a few hours away from Krabi, so that might be just far enough to keep the masses away.spitthedog wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 4:20 pmPhuket is just too developed. When you have to pay for your sunbed it's game over. Even the once laid back getaway of Kamala beach now feels like a tourist factory.
I could be wrong , but i would think Ko Lanta still has that nice combination of laid back hippie shack feel, with just enough luxury to keep one happy.
Anyway, if i was gonna have a beach holiday in Thailand i'd probably head for Ko Lipe.
For luxury Pimali Resort can’t be beat. They have 900 meters of private beach, an excellent buffet, two pools (one nearer to beach level and one up the hill), and a really great design focused on keeping the natural environment around. It’s pricey, for sure, but sometimes you can find great off season rates — added bonus, free hotel transfers.
