Dry Cleaner's
Does anyone know of a good Dry Cleaner's in Phnom Penh? I have used the one in front of the Cambodia just once, but I have an important item with a stain that I don't want to hand over to a random shop without recommendations. I don't mean just any laundry place that will wash and iron your shirts, but where do you get your suits, etc, dry cleaned?

People usually recommend the one in front of the Cambodiana. I use them regularly and haven't had any issues.
I assume the one's at the Intercon, Raffles and Sofitel would be good too, but haven't tried them.

On the one occasion that you used the Dry Cleaner's outside the Cambodiana, what was it that made you seek another Dry Cleaner's? What led you to view that place as a 'random shop'? Did you have an issue with that place on the one time that you used it? I have only used it once, when I needed an item a few hours later, but, pricey though it was, it delivered the goods. My wife used it for a simple cleaning on her dresses. I threw in a pair of pants, nothing special.springrain wrote:On the one occasion that you used the Dry Cleaner's outside the Cambodiana, what was it that made you seek another Dry Cleaner's? I now have a tuxedo jacket with a stain on the lapel - I see it as a one off chance to get it fixed. It's my former wedding tux, which I shipped here, so it's technically insured, but sentimentally it's not at all. So I seek a legitimate place that can help me.

What sort of events are you attending in Cambodia where you wear a Tuxedo jacket? The Buffalo Sister Sunday Roast?

I use the Cambodiana fairly regularly for suits, but one time I took a grey suit with a red wine stain on it they said they couldn't promise they'd be able to get it out. Back in the UK it would be a no brainer, so I was concerned - but it came back all good, so no complaint there.
Dare to ask what the stain on the lapel is, and what colour the tux is (pretty hard to bugger up a black tux?!) - you might be able to treat it yourself with some old housewife remedies. The one my mum taught be about leaving white shirts in cold water overnight to remove blood stains was especially good after one of my Bricktop pig feeding moments a few years back.

So I'm not allowed to own a tuxedo because I live in Cambodia now? Should I have donated it to the Goodwill when I moved?gavinmac wrote:What sort of events are you attending in Cambodia where you wear a Tuxedo jacket? The Buffalo Sister Sunday Roast?
