Frozen Blueberries?
Anyone seen any for sale? None at Super Duper or Angkor Mart.
Is it worth a trip to Bayon or Thai Hout? Lucky even?
Thanks!

Frozen raspberries & strawberries at Thai Huot; could you also get away with blueberry jam? Definitely available at Thai Huot.

Thanks but I'm not looking for fresh. There used to be bags of Emborg frozen berries around, but haven't seen them in a while.youngwill100 wrote:Fresh ones at Lucky, but very expensive

Nah, need some antioxidants specifically. Living here is mostly just bouncing from one cold/chest infection to the next.Spigzy wrote:Frozen raspberries & strawberries at Thai Huot; could you also get away with blueberry jam? Definitely available at Thai Huot.

Thanks violet. It's not like I'm living on a diet of white bread and mama noodles. I eat very well. And i like blueberries. Therefore I'm seeking out some blueberries.violet wrote:There are other, less expensive, sources

Up to you, mate.LexusSchmexus wrote:I don't really believe the antioxidant thing. You'd probably have to eat a kilo a day for them to make a difference, though I guess if you're having that many infections anything is worth a try. As mentioned, definitely available at TH.
I'm getting over glandular fever and also train a lot, so just getting my nutrients in.
Maybe it's just a psychological advantage, but hey, they taste good on my breakfast.
I've just been through a dogged and painful chest infection but all cleared up after 2 days eating raw red onion.

I know you have stated a few times it's blueberries you after, however, have you seen the dried strawberries at Super Duper? they are with the fresh fruit and veg. I discovered them about a month ago. One small 'punnet' of them lasts me a couple of weeks, as they are so sweet (they have a sharpness to them that cuts through that sweetness well). I have one or two a day as my 'sweet'. They are probably full of chemicals and without antioxidants though. Reasonably priced considering they are too intense to eat many at once, and therefore they last/ $1.61 for 0.156 (g?).the_purple_turtle wrote:Thanks violet. I love blueberries as I like smoothies and this has always been the problem: they come and go. I have a feeling the supermarkets het in together and buy a container because there will always be a time when every supermarket will stock them, and then nothing for weeks. i have a big freezer so I can stockpile.
Why are people talking about red beans when the OP is asking for blueberries? Like the OP: I love blueberries because they taste great, that's all. I just don't see a bean smoothie being very good.....

People...aka me, spoke of red beans because the OP also spoke of antioxidants being the reason he was seeking blueberries. He later said No, he specifically wants the taste of blueberries... in which case, it was pointless even mentioning that his search was to do with antioxidants. If that was the main driver, the dude would go for the other, less expensive, sources of antioxidant.Hanno wrote:I love blueberries as I like smoothies and this has always been the problem: they come and go.
