it might be a good idea to start a new thread for this.abayd wrote:On the opposite side of the spectrum, what about giving birth in Cambodia?
Are there any good clinics which specialize in this, or midwife centres?

How is abortion considered a medical procedure? I have a debate in a few weeks and my team has to state how abortion is a medical procedure and how it liberates women from patriarchy. Could someone give me some information and maybe a number to call and ask questions?

That's not a question about Cambodia. you can easily find both sides of the argument on the internet - just google the right phrase.chitralekha wrote:How is abortion considered a medical procedure? If you are looking for an abortion call Chenda Polyclinic and tell them you need a gynecologist. The sister mentioned in another thread got one recently from a recommendation from them. The doctor was Khmer but seemed knowledgeable. This would have been baby number 6 and she is extremely poor. I paid $125.00 for the procedure and that included an IUD that was good for three years. I was not going to pay for anything without shutting down the baby factory.
Personally I am against abortion but it is a personal issue and choice. Nobody has the right to tell another person either to have one or not.

this is the best place to go!harrowingsight wrote:Depending on how far along she is, she may be able to go the much easier route involving pills.
Otherwise, you can check the yellow pages for "maternity" clinics (ironically).
Maybe contact Marie Stopes (an international NGO specializing in reproductive health, which offers such services).
Best of luck.

Emerging from the mud honey of The Penh, I proffer this swinish pearl of wisdom. Dolores died giving life, my Missie died dispensing death and the green fairy kills me a little more every day. Abortion is murder? I drink to that. So is life. To deny a conceiving being life is to deny it the right to go to hell in its own way.
