The wooden furniture is mostly terrible, really ugly and uncomfortable. I had a giant carved sitting platform in my front room before, it was almost impossible to move as it was made out of thick hardwood. The only thing it seemed good for was when there were monks visiting. They make these giant vase shaped things out of hardwood that are about 12 feet high, totally fucking useless too, I'm not sure you can even put anything in them as I'm sure they are totally solid. Probably cost thousands for a pair. Then they make these disgusting "sculptures" out of giant knotty bits of trees, with all branches and shit sticking out.????

Very little wood was being used in Thailand--except for the teakwood houses. I think the bricks at 500 usd for 10,000 would be the way to go. Lumber is relatively cheap right now in the States compared to shingles (oil) or copper pipe. Cement is fairly low, too. Wire (copper) is high.
