best value swimming pools in PNH
If your health is at such a risk, you want to have an ambulance on call,
do you expect to survive in Cambodia, if lightning strikes your heart and
the ambulance has to come from far abroad ?

Intercontinental has a qualified doctor on the premises (check his hours on duty) and attendants who are good swimmers, lovely pool.

For the well-heeled - wonderful. But when I checked a few weeks ago it was closed for rennovations. Is it covered for shade? I don't recall.
Hey, no one has mentioned details of the VIP club in PNH. I hear that one is a high standard.
BTW, I am in BKK right now and talk about a pain in the ass to swim in this metropolis. I sleep in places that barely will have hot water, let along an 'ang hai tuk'. I asked at a few hotels that do have pools and non-guetss cannot swim at them at any price. I have a whole list of swimming pools here but they are all (?) way out to hell and gone in the suburbs (swim for one horu, travel for one too!), including some in mega-malls. So far, the only options I have found are...
1. Lumpini Park public pool. Hassle to get permission. Must bring two 1.5 " photos, copy of passport (not necessary to have notarized, how considerate), THB40 (or was it 400?) and a health certificate from a clinic or hospital attesting to the fact (?) that you are contagious/skin disease-free - like that couldn't change tomorrow! Don't know if this is to discourage us farangs to use public facilities or if it keeps out the riff-raff.
2. Ekamai pool (have no idea where it is exactly and what the deal is)
3. Sports complex pool near National Stadium BTS (closed until mid-September). Have to take out a one year THB1000 membership then ther is a per use entrance fee.
Oh, and Thailand is no longer the land of smiles, if it ever was. I miss the relaxed, smiling Khmers and the provincical capital vibe of PNH. I feel like shopping mall-phobic Woody Allen at Siam Paragon: "Get me out of this place and into the sunshine/rain. Argh!"

What is an Anghai Tuk?nightblooming cerius wrote: BTW, I am in BKK right now and talk about a pain in the ass to swim in this metropolis. I sleep in places that barely will have hot water, let along an 'ang hai tuk'.
This is very reasonable, the hotel pools is for its guest to enjoy, and if it operate as an commercial public pool, then it lose its appeal.I asked at a few hotels that do have pools and non-guetss cannot swim at them at any price.
what a joke, and I want them to provide a detail chemcial analysis for the pool accuate to the last 15 minutes.1. Lumpini Park public pool. Hassle to get permission. I've been doing some pool research and it's coming up the same shit so I'm bumping this to get some opinions.
I've been to a number of pools in the city and think they're all pretty meh or too expensive.
A nice(r) hotel pool recommendation please where I can get a beer and hang out where I won't be completely surrounded by people or totally alone. Where I can pay like 5 dollars max and the pool is not entirely shaded. To much to ask?
I like the Blue Lime pool 'cause it's quiet but has people and always a bartender but it's too shady and the construction right next door has gotten way too crazy.
Himawari gets sun but Im over that mess.

I should add, somewhere between MTT Blvd, Riverside, Monivong and Wat Phnom.
Im not cheap either I just don't want to waste my money on Admission when Im going to eat and drink more then a night's room rate.
I'm so white right now I look stupid, I need a tan and Im too busy to head to the beach.

Wow, I guess I'm just picky. That looks great but I don't want to be around kids lol, thanks though.
My lol was at me for being picky, that was a totally genuine thanks though. I googled it and it looked like a "family fun" place, I may still be checkin' it out tomorrow.
They'll probably require a mask for your ugly ass. Or a paper bag over your head at the very least.dotty wrote:do they requier bathing caps?
