Hey, guys
I will be arriving in Phnom Penh in the beginning of 2/2012 and I've been looking for a post to answer my question but it was in vain. So, here: Do they have standard self serve laundry mats in Phnom Penh? I have lived in Mexico and Central America and it depended on region. Either there were independent laundry to use or you simply dropped your clothes off and paid for someone else to wash for you. I, myself, rather do my own laundry - after running around dropping off resumes during my second week's arrival and with the good chance of being interviewed, I realize in that tropic heat, I'll be looking like a crimson faced, sweaty rapist gasping for air in their offices - I certainly do not need to smell like one.
So, self-serve laundry? Yes? No?
Don't sweat it? Right.

No, because there are no coins. You drop it off and someone does the whole load for you for about 12 cents. OK, maybe a little more.

Every block of almost every neighborhood has a woman (and it is always a woman) who takes in laundry to wash. There are also plenty of shophouse laundries scattered around and even one self service laundromat in the old town near the river. In addition these, days plenty of rental apartments come with top loading washing machines.

if you are planning being here 12 months or more buy a second hand one f for $150 . the running around picking up laundry is a pain and those woman lose stuff bit by bit.
