Would you like to work as security guard at our hotel? If your etc... can be expanded to keep a log book recording all the above details, then I will get you all the pharmaceuticals you need. Shit, you could even do a morning shift in the kitchen if your french toast is good.connecticuter wrote:I just came back from the place. It's funny, I've walked by the place several times and forgot about it. I have an uncommon situational awareness.
When I am walking down the street I attend to the following:
1. assess the intentions of passers by, looking for aggression/hostility
2. attempt to avoid going into striking range of others, if unavoidable be prepared to act immediately
3. avoid walking in an area where I can be flanked by surprise
4. keep awareness of persons behind me
5. assess long distance threats/obstacles
6. keep an eye out for makeshift weapons
when entering a building also add
7. look for mutliple alternative exits
8. if sitting find a seat that provides the best view of the entire room
9. remain aware of who enters and exits
etc...
The upshot is, I rarely remember the details of the businesses I walk past.... I am going to make french toast now
Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
What's a strong painkiller to keep in the house for emergency ?

tramadol or coedine will help you out if you're in agony, dont expect to be able to function 100% though
Hey connecticuter, your 'phenidate search seems a little fruitless. Perhaps you may be able to order online and get some alternatives in the post? I don't know whether US and UK companies generally avoid shipping to cambodia so this might be irrelevant, but have you looked into nootropics?
While not really stimulants on par with an amphetamine you can get pretty decent focus using stuff like aniracetam or pramiracetam with a choline booster. I used to use them all the time whilst studying. Kinda gives you the mental edge without the comedown or jitters or anything like that, completely non-addictive. There's lots of other interesting nootropics too, but you need to do your research. The -racetams are pretty fool proof however. Impossible to OD and they aren't that expensive, at least not compared to stuff like modafinil.
You can also probably just order some atomoxetine online which might assuage your withdrawal. I know of at least one site that will ship anywhere. It's like a softer version, without the serotonin reuptake inhibition. It might help!

Ojr,
I will look into your suggestions. However, ordering ritalin or its alternatives from the US is out. You need a script, only the bearer of the script can pick it up at the pharmacy, you need the doc to renew the script each month, and no meds through mail: these drugs are classified as controlled substances. Some pharmacies will not even fill the script without first calling the doc (even if you are a repeat customer), so as to avoid the problems of abuse. Thus, my doc in Connecticut cannot write me a script and have it sent here.
Having been on the stuff for 2 decades, I am feeling pretty awful right now. Besides a reduction in my attention span I am definitely going through withdrawal: headaches especially. It, as they say, sucks. On top of that I feel like sleeping 16 hours a day and eating twice my weight a day when I am awake.
Of course, there are plenty of people with worse problems.

May be a good process for you to go through in the long run. I mean, does it not bother you that you've become so dependent on a drug that if you stop taking it, it means that you will have to suffer through this experience?
I was told there would be cake.

It never bothered me before, owing to the easy supply. I saw it as benign as fluoride in water. The trouble is, it is going to take me years of searching for and practicing various mental discipline techniques to begin to approach the level of concentration that I previously had. Of course, if I could simply press a button and have such techniques I would choose them over the drugs.ChicagoGuy wrote:May be a good process for you to go through in the long run. So, while you are right about me being dependent and that now is a better time than ever to stop, it does not feel that way.
I know that I will not be tweaking for too long, but I have to face the facts that I will be performing sub-optimally for years, even with my best efforts.

I'm talking to you instead of working, it's not normal for people to have laser focus and work non-stop for 8 hour periods. You call it sub-optimal, I call it normal.

I get what your saying, but it was my normal for 20 years. So it feels like a great diminishment.
Right now I have to drink 2 pots of coffee and smoke 20 non-filtered cigarettes to stay awake. I woke up only a few hours ago and I am exhausted already. I had planned to spend the weekend looking for work. I am such a mess right now, I would blow the interview. Yesterday was a waste also, and today is not looking to bright either: body aches, shivers, I even caught my hands twitching yesterday.
So, while you have my intellectual agreement, emotionally I am not there.

Cambodians get by without the capacity to concentrate, and always have. Okay, that's facetious, but a serious point is that I am very conscious that after seven years of never having being intellectually stretched, my brain runs on 20% the capacity that it used to and I'm still deemed outstanding in my field (in Cambodia, I mean ; I had a rude reality check in my brief sojourn back West). Learning to slow your mind down is not necessarily a 'bad thing', and Cambodia is the optimal place to do that. Basically, dump the chemicals, just chill and go with the flow.
I came, I argued, I'm out
