I'm thinking about buying a small SUV such a Suzuki Tracer/Sidekick, Mini Paiero, Rocsta or an M151A2 (last option, no AC).
I've a vague idea about prices and absolutly no one where to buy it (but Deals on Wheels advertising on the Cambodia Daily), so any information, comment or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Toranaga

Street 106, across Monivong from the train station and just a block away from Monivong. It's become an impromptu for-sale-by-owner and small dealer used car lot. Lots of Camrys, Ravs, lower-end small SUVs, dozens and dozens of Ticos and such. Make sure you check ALL related vehicle documentation and licenses before you buy.

Or if you have any Khmer friends or family, tell them the exact car you want; model, year, spec etc and how much you are willing to pay, they will put the word out and the cars will come to you, this also helps with bargaining as when you enquire about a car at a shop or something the seller already knows you're interested but when they come to you, you can act like you're not interested with it still being believable.
I recently bought a Camry this way and saw four within 48hrs before buying one.
The other thing with buying a car here is to make sure you buy something there are a lot of, otherwise repairs are often below par using fabricated parts and over priced. There is a reason why 7 out of every 10 cars in Cambodia are Toyotas.

Lop. Of course it exists, as do all other standard types of insurance. And you'll be greatful for it too, it's not a legal requirement, but as a white guy if you crash into a moto or something ( or even if one crashes into you), you will be in a world of shit, however, if you're insured and they aren't the tables will be somewhat turned.

Funny.
You actually managed to fit it in contextually quite well.. not insulting, but just discounting... almost like a 'meh'

Well, it's not really an insulting word (unless your a 5 year old), it's closer to the english word "silly" than "stupid", and yeah, it's a polite way to completely dismiss what has just been said without causing serious offence. So for all you guys who only understand a couple of words; when someone calls you "loplop", take it as the lighthearted joke it was intended, and not as an insult like some of you do.
