It is well known that some Khmer women earn good money (by local standards) letting foreign dudes essentially act out their sexual fantasies on them. Why can't Khmer dudes similarly "sell their bodies" to foreign male tourists in a non-sexual way?
Here's what I'm getting at. I haven't punched a guy in the stomach in about 15 years. I wouldn't mind punching another guy in the stomach. It's a pretty good feeling. But I can't do it here in the West, because (a) I could get sued, (b) I could get arrested, or (c) the guy could hit me back. Imagine though if a Khmer guy offered to let any foreigner punch him in the stomach for $2. Isn't that a good deal for everyone? I'm not a big guy, I really couldn't do much damage. I mean, foreigners pay to shoot rocket launchers, wouldn't some of them pay just to give someone a good old fashioned stomach punch?
How about a slap across the face? Let's say the next time you're having a drink, instead of a little girl trying to sell you flowers, or some hag trying to massage you, a dude walked up to you and said "For 2000 riels you can slap me across the face as hard as you want." Wouldn't that be tempting after a few beers?
Actually, forget slapping, it's kind of gay. But if a woman will sell use of her vagina for $10, how about a Khmer guy who walks around with an indelible marker and says "For $1, you can draw whatever you want on my forehead." Or, "For 500 riel, you can shoot this rather thick rubber band directly at my face from a distance of three feet away."
I'm convinced there's money to made here. Obviously, any foreign dude who thinks it's morally OK to pay an impoverished woman for sex on the "consenting adults/free market transaction" theory will have no problems with the morality of say, agreeing to pay an impoverished guy 3000 riel for the right to give him a very painful but non-sexual "titty twister" or a "purple nurple."
Why are there no entrepreneurial male nonsexual prostitutes?
It could work on the same kind of principle as hostess bars.
You just go to the bar, drink...there's some annoying khmer guys also in the bar, you get into a fight with one of them (or start a brawl with a couple of them), they just happen to be really easy to beat up, then you give 'em a bit of cash afterwards.

No need to pay, how about a good old-fashioned game of "roshambo", i get to go first?baggygravy wrote:How much to kick you really hard in the nuts?Bubble T wrote:I think you're getting at the same business principle of "bum fights". Why bother using Khmer men when there are expat evangelical christians here in such abundance. After a painful jab to the solar plexus they'd surely have to turn the other cheek and forgive you.
We have plenty of Christians here in Battambang so I might try giving one a Chinese Burn this afternoon. If he takes it then I'll follow through with a leaping neckbreaker or perhaps even a 'jumping return crucifix.'

Hey, I'm not necessarily advocating this idea. And I'm not saying that I want to punch a Khmer guy in the stomach, or draw something on his forehead in indelible marker. (I do a pretty good Snoopy)
I'm just pointing out that although some SE Asian women seem to make a living allowing themselves to be used and degraded by foreign men for cash, the local men really don't. Sure there are male beggars, and there are men performing manual labor (or moto driving) for lowly wages, but that's not the same. So maybe the local men don't know that the sadistic market exists, maybe they have too much pride to allow themselves to be degraded in these ways, or maybe they're not as poor as the women. I don't know.
My guess is that the women just had a head start with their business plan because they were already performing sexual services for cash for the local men, so some of them just applied their skills to the better paying foreign market. So if there was a local custom of rich Khmer dudes occasionally acting out their aggressions by paying a poor farmer 500 riel for the right to give him a wedgie, I bet that it wouldn't be long before a bunch of said farmers realized they could make more money charging foreign guys $1 for the same privilege.

You underestimate the subtle entrpreneurial capitalistic genius of the average Khmer male Gav. They may look like lazy drunken riel-less spongers to the uninitiated, but who do you think are the real recipients of the barrel-loads of dollars the girls get for spreading their legs? I think we could learn a few lessons from these dudes
I came, I argued, I'm out

Bum Fights raked in over $20,000,000 before they got shut down. I had a look and it made me sad and a little sick. I felt really bad when they attacked the sleeping homeless guys. One guy looked like a regular blue collar worker who'd fallen on hard times. They attacked him in his sleep and he was scared. They sprayed paint all over the guy's face, hair, and clothes. He kept saying to the cameraman "Please, man. I'm supposed to be at my job in the morning." and the little white-trash camera-boys just kept giggling and harrassing the poor guy. I was happy when I read that most of their 20 million dollars was confiscated by the prosecuters.Bubble T wrote:I think you're getting at the same business principle of "bum fights".
