excellent, i was wondering when this months "thailand vs cambodia" thread would appear
Here is one comparison between the two countries. A Wat Phnom chicken that needs stuffing would cost you about $5 - $10 whereas a cooked chicken at Lotus is already stuffed and cost about 120 bt.?????

I see what you mean . I like Thailand and if I moved it would be to see a new place and experience a new country. Since, that's the only big downside of teaching in Thailand, is the pay isn't that great. Plus, it would be good to get away from always teaching kids, if I could teach adults at a lang ctr, that would be neat.Sublime wrote:Cambodia is way cheaper than Thailand, very easy to get a job teaching at an international school as well, you'll be rich if you make the move. What's the worst that could happen?
Overall I like Thailand, I'm just debating whether to get a change of scenery and see a new country, like Cambodia. I visited PP before and thought it was a fun time and seemed decent. I like it in Thailand, the only downside is the pay sucks for teachers, compared to other countries. I suppose I'm ready to see somewhere new; I have it narrowed down to BKK or PP. I know both countries are good, but I posted the message hoping for feedback. I should have been more specific about Cambodia and asked for info on PP, since that is where I would most likely move.BillyB wrote:So what went wrong with Thailand (for you) ?
@
I hope you no teacher, you no speak grammar good. If you Cambodian, you not learn English well enough when you student school.teamone wrote:Cambodia no good, please stay away, Thailand much better, much better for you.
Lol, I suppose I posted it right on time then!Captain Bonez wrote:excellent, i was wondering when this months "thailand vs cambodia" thread would appear
That sounds good, thanks man for the feedback!GMJS-440 wrote:the women in thailand are more attractive and intelligent in my experience. Cambodia has the advantage of being cheaper so you have much more spending money
Yeah, I'm thinking about it since I know I won't be teaching abroad for many years after this, so I want to travel and experience new places while I am still abroad. I think you have a point, VIolet, if everyone says "Cambodia rules, Thailand sucks" or "Thailand rules, Cambodia sucks" that's just their opinion, and all that matters is what I think. I suppose I'd be looking for a new experience.violet wrote:hi there
so why are you wanting to leave Thailand? just wanting a change?
It will be a change.
Whether it is a change that suits you or not can really only be determined by you.
What do you want from Cambodia that you think Thailand is not giving you?
I've decided for you!TJC28 wrote:Yeah, I'm thinking about it since I know I won't be teaching abroad for many years after this, so I want to travel and experience new places while I am still abroad. MOVE TO CAMBODIA!
Like you said, you're teaching to travel, so come here!
End of discussion.

this thread should get stickied and become "the official" thiland/cambiodia threa... just to prevent so many future threads on the subject, lol.

So I have read on a few threads that PP is cheaper than Bangkok. Would you guys say that let's say, 60,000 baht earned in Cambodia (coz I am used to Thai currency) is around 80,000 baht in Bangkok? Or is that too much of a difference?
By the way, I am talking from a single, early 30's, like the odd weekend trip to the bar male.
Cheers.

So you know that you're addressing an audience that's mainly based in Cambodia, yet you demand them to think in Baht because that's what you use.OneManArmy wrote:Would you guys say that let's say, 60,000 baht earned in Cambodia (coz I am used to Thai currency) is around 80,000 baht in Bangkok?

Would you do a 15 day quarantine just to get 4-6 weeks of freedom in Thailand or Cambodia?
