well this thread has confused the hell out of me...
if I fly in and head to lucky2 or similar can I get a 1 year licence reasonably promptly?
unfortunately for big bike cover I have to have a Cambodian license according to my insurance company...
not keen on waiting 30 days unless someone has an agent that can arrange this for me before I arrive heh.
50% of the places I read on the internet say an intl D/L is accepted in KH, 50% say not.
-- don't mind If I have to pay the tea money for having an international D/L - but how easy is 3rd party motor vehicle insurance to get on an intl. d/l in KH?
- i've been getting quotes based on the idea that I'll have a KH licence.

Does anybody have recent experience obtaining a 5 years Cambo Drivers license, based on a (currently) expired 1 year Cambo Drivers license, without having an official Sangkat residential letter, without sitting the theoretical exam and doing the practice one ?
Also interested in this if anyone has done it recently.v12 wrote:Does anybody have recent experience obtaining a 5 years Cambo Drivers license, based on a (currently) expired 1 year Cambo Drivers license, without having an official Sangkat residential letter, without sitting the theoretical exam and doing the practice one ?

I am glad to inform you that from now on, these are valid 10 years instead of 5.
Price was the same for me as 5 years ago at 35$.

I have the long expiry date one since I became Cambodian (used to be 5 years and now 10)
I heard you can go around this by undertaking the local driving test but never met anyone that had one procured that way tho.

I just renewed my licence at Aeon 2. Passport, old licence, British licence, 120000r fee, 140000 fine for being a little late
In and out in 15 minutes. There's a separate queue in the ticketing system for foreigners and no other foreigners were stupid enough to attempt a renewal at Aeon 2 on a Saturday afternoon.
