Hi guys, newly discovered this forum in my research for more info on Cambodia given that I will be expatriating there in the near future.
I've trawled through the boards and have not found a previously posted answer to my question, so would appreciate if anyone can enlighten me please.
Question is, how does one make a collect call in Cambodia, whether through placing the call through the local operator or via a pre-assigned prefix number?
Many thanks in advance.
How to make collect calls in Cambodia?
Why would you want to do that???When to call overseas from Cambodia cost virtually nothing.
"OM Shanti"
someone can create a skype account and load it with money... from there you can call landlines and mobiles...
if both have skype, you can call for free....
if both have skype, you can call for free....
If making collect calls is near the top of your list of concerns before moving to Cambodia...............you might want to reconsider your choice to move here.
I think your only option close to that would be to miss call them for free, and they will have to call you back.

Calls to the states are shockingly cheap, but try calling Zambia or South Africa and you'll notice a major difference. Many internet cafes have VOIP calls that cost very little as long as you are calling a land-line back home. I think it costs about 75c (3000 KHR) for me to call my folks for about 21 minutes, which is about as long as I can talk on the phone without getting a major earache. I can Skype them from home (computer to computer is free), but my Visa card somehow isn't accepted by Skype for pre-paid calls to foreign land-lines.Phuket2006 wrote:with calls to the states and just about most western countries at less than $.05 why call collect??
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
