But we live in an age of personalities.
Personalities promote in every sense of the term, especially - Issues - Causes - Organizations etc
Personalities attract - Interest - Donors and Sponsors - Multi Media Interest.
And the bigger the personality the better. It's a fact of life in this day and age.
I spent years working in a large international organization that uses personalities to very good effect as "Goodwill Ambassadors". Some are from cultures well known to me others far less so. But their standing and value as "attention magnets" within their own cultures and language streams is beyond question. So don't knock personalities if trying to build and sustain an organization. CCF is small fry by global standards but an Elephant in the Room in Cambodia.
I was fortunate to spend time with some of these Goodwill Ambassadors and each and every one of them was a very impressive advocate for the organization. Some of whom included: The late Audrey HEPBURN, the late Peter USTINOV, Harry BELAFONTE, Richard ATTENBOROUGH, Roger MOORE, Judy COLLINS, Mia FARROW, Jacki CHAN, Nana MOUSCOURI, etc. etc.
Never underestimate Personality and Personalities. Organizations need them. It matters not if they are the Pope or the Dalai Lama or Fred Hollows etc.
