Termite Treatment
Hello all,
Old poster here (previously chased out by KIR's cuntishness), new handle.
I hope some of you would like to chip in with some recommendations...
We built a cement and brick house a few years ago. Recently, I found out that we have a serious termite problem underneath. After some internet research, it seems that the way forward is Slab Injection.
Based on their internet presence, I have selected 4 companies that seem able to do that job. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If anyone has any experience, please share.
Please bear in mind that, with the family history in my mind, I don't need a higher cancer risk. I would want the company to work and use materials that are up to western standards.
Thanks very much for your help!
EA

Thanks for that, JR. I gather from your posts that you are working as a local builder? Good to know what you use.
Although I'll probably not damage my tiles as much, I'd still prefer to have a local company do it, instead of DIY (which is what a friend suggested).
Any other folks with experience in this field? Where are the Laudjohns and Ken Svays et al?
Thanks!

I am not a builder it is a common misconception. I am a business consultant which works very often with construction companies since here we are experiencing a construction boom and having local builders following a real budget plan is a pain for most people. For example i draw the budget plan together with engineers than we make sure the suppliers and contractors offer competitive pricing (organize tenders etc.), we make sure there is no wastage or stealing of construction supplies and so on.
Or they just call me for find out why their budget plan is not working out

OK Thanks. Obviously I didn't know that.
Must be a joy working with local builders for your living! We thought it was a really tiresome/stressful/frustrating process, and we actually had a reasonably switched on guy leading them...

where (if possible in PP) can I buy a good product to kill or "scare off" termites?
are you building from ground up, just need to protect some interior wood or something else?
OP, just asking, how can you be so sure the cause of the problems are the termites? I'm not questioning the cause, just wondering what signs you saw that those little bastards are the cause of the problem, and not something else.EatenAlive wrote:Hello all,

I noticed termites were nibbling on exterior wood around our house.
I don't want to get them inside.

It's not that easy (or cheap) to get rid of them - takes weeks of application and re-application. But if you don't, your wooden kitchen will be eaten etc etc. Try Pest to Kill or Pest Busters. Prices generally depend upon the floor space size of the house - and, as said, can be very high.
Again guys for termites use fibpronil solution, dig a shallow ditch around your house about 12cm deep and 15cm wide fill it with a few buckets of fibpronil solution unti it's full than fill it back in and you are done for years. If they are coming from under the floor or they already have a nest in the house than it's much harder but that's rare. I found fibpronil before at orussey market in small sugar like packets. 10$ for the fibpronil and 10$-20$ for the guy that digs the ditch should be enough. After that you can call the pros for removing anything already inside the house. If they come from under the floor slab try to track their way in, they always leave a tunnel like structure around their entrance, you can seal any little holes or cracks with grout or sika seal. If you have any wood that's easy to reach for the termites you can treat it with borates solution spray.
