Chef's knife?
Chef's knife?
I'm looking to buy a good quality chef's knife, for personal use. Something in the $150-$200 range would be perfect. Any idea where I might find one?

This is the OP's only other post, from three months ago. Just an observation.

Save your money and buy 'Kiwi' brand knives from the markets, best kitchen knives imo, sharp as hell and cheap to replace.ghl34 wrote:I'm looking to buy a good quality chef's knife, for personal use. Something in the $150-$200 range would be perfect. Any idea where I might find one?
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Second that, absolutely amazing for the price, and even professional chefs comment on their sharpness. My wife previously worked as a chef in Malaysia and thinks they are good. She bought one for her sister in Preveng a while back, like the centre knife in the pic below.PSD_Kiwi wrote:Save your money and buy 'Kiwi' brand knives from the markets, best kitchen knives imo, sharp as hell and cheap to replace.ghl34 wrote:I'm looking to buy a good quality chef's knife, for personal use. Kom Kom knives are made by the same company and supposedly of slightly higher quality.

I have a Kom Kom knife. Sharp alright, but not hefty enough for me.

I purposely don't own really sharp knives because if we did there would be a massacre in the kitchen, or st least it would seem that way after my wife and I had finished cooking!
Especially after a few beers or ten.

I do not handle my knives if pissed; I rather value my fingers.YaTingPom wrote:I purposely don't own really sharp knives because if we did there would be a massacre in the kitchen, or st least it would seem that way after my wife and I had finished cooking!

As a chef I used Bapdas 8-Inch High Carbon Stainless Steel Chef Knife like this. This 8 inch knife with high amout of carbon and stain-proof steel from Bapdas which has all the capability of becoming a standalone knife that can perform slicing, dicing, chopping and mincing of fruits, vegetables, fish, and meats.I am using this a long time. It is very handy and very ease to use.
If you spend $250 at Lucky's they will give you a Schulte Ufer santoku free! Downside these german sounding knives are made in China!ghl34 wrote:I'm looking to buy a good quality chef's knife, for personal use. Something in the $150-$200 range would be perfect. Any idea where I might find one?
