Friend of mine reckons it's illegal to unlock an iPhone under contract. I can't see how it is if you are still making the monthly payments. If you honour the payment terms of the contract surely the phone is yours and you can use it whatever way you want (whichever simcard you want).
It *may* invalidate warranty though...
