I assume you mean the one north of the night market. I'll ask them next time I'm over there.Miguelito wrote:How about Hummus House?

Yea, that's the place. They also opened a spot in Bassac Lane. They definitely have pita, but I don't know how much it is if you just buy it on its own.palm_tree wrote:I assume you mean the one north of the night market. I'll ask them next time I'm over there.Miguelito wrote:How about Hummus House?

I am catching a bus to SR this Friday, if I have enough time I will check it out and ask.

resealble packets with reasonable shelf life
perhaps get someone to bring some or ask a shop that has malaysian products if they would import them too
i go for the 6 grain ones, wholemeal is ok too.

Don't blame me I voted for Sanders
FYI everyone I went to the Hummus House on Bassac Lane yesterday and their pita is 'only' 50 cents each. However, at least for the Hummus House on Bassac Lane it appears they don't know how to make it- it ended up being like a hard tortilla.
I'll try the one near the night market- I remember their pita was proper.
So far 50 cents is the best deal compared to the place on Str 19.

I'm sure Super Duper have them in stock occasionally...The Shop also sells them, no idea on price

Yes I order from Hummus House above the night market quite often, and always receive warm, fresh pitas. If I were to leave it out over night it would indeed turn hard, but it's always been fresh when I've ordered from there.palm_tree wrote:FYI everyone I went to the Hummus House on Bassac Lane yesterday and their pita is 'only' 50 cents each. oh and i have seen these wraps in a small cambo store, in quantity but no multigrain or "pita" when i saw them so must be around for you too. with respect i prefer the multigrain wraps to actual pita that i have had in the distant past

I've seen Mission brand chapaties and naan in Smile. The chapaties taste like some kind of brown wrap: eatable but inauthentic.
They make pita in Saigon, have seen them at Annam. I think packs of six are about $4.

got some wholemeal mission wraps. 1 packet 10000Reil
pack has 8 so figure it yourself somewhat less than 50cents each, about 30 cents at current rates.
where? cambodia not telling.
double check pack has 6 not 8 so closer to 50 cents now

Just make a yeast dough with some yoghurt.
This will be much superior to anything you can buy, make a sponge of the dough first and give it time.
Add some flour and Knead
Punch it down on first rise, then pinch and roll out circles. cook in frying pan with a film of oil very hot.
You can get yeast and bread flour at Thai Hout.
Unbelievably easy. Roll it out with a wine bottle.
It takes no time at all if you plan a little.
Google for more.
