Espresso/cappuccino makers for home use??
I got a Saeco Poemia from the (?)Sunsimexco up on Monivong, right hand side as heading north from Vattanac Tower towards Calmette.
Decent coffee machine to my mind, cost just over $100 if my memory is any good (4-5 years ago), still going strong. The biggest benefit I find is that it takes ground coffee, not those damn plastic capsules that pollute the environment, cost an arm and a leg, and often are out of stock for days/weeks/months at a time. Getting hold of ground coffee here is easy, grab a grinder from Central Market if you want to take it further. I use it for espresso mainly, has a decent crema without any hassle or mucking around with tamping the coffee as it has a pressurised portafilter - also has the panarello (steamer) for cappuccino, etc.
Pro Tip: get at least one can of Illy ground coffee/beans - even if you don't like Illy, that canister works great over here for keeping moisture out & you can re-use with whichever brand you prefer that comes in the usual loose coffee packaging.

Good shop I've bought quite a few appliances from their store close to Central Market on 130 st. They have this model for $189,probably the same as yours, may have others.Spigzy wrote:I got a Saeco Poemia from the (?)Sunsimexco up on Monivong, right hand side as heading north from Vattanac Tower towards Calmette.

Thats the one - the red is more expensive for whatever reason; pretty certain black was around the $115/120 mark; but it was some time ago, maybe they got wise that this is probably one of the better selling machines out there.

I took a look yesterday at the Sunsimexico close to Central Market on 130 st. They didn't have any (had only the regular drip coffee makers). Will keep looking....
The Central Market outlet is one of their smaller shops and they don't always carry all items. I think the main one is on Sihanouk Boulevard number 89 Tel : 023 216 680wolfcreek wrote:I took a look yesterday at the Sunsimexico close to Central Market on 130 st.
