Does such a thing exist. I assume not, but if anyone has had any direct experience with GARMIN Marine product repairs here, could you point me in the right direction? (as in, send the part O/S or .... repair it here.)
It would be a touch lcd-screen transplant at most, 7" display size, dead pixels in some areas. I realize that most phone & computer repair shops would understand the mechanics involved, but they are as unimaginative as it comes and would probably fuck-up the unfixable as they poked around inside trying to figure out where to put their SIM card in this weird Garmin phone tablet looking thing. On that note, someone familiar with the Garmin NMEA 2000 system and how you could possibly customize it with the cheap tech available here would be even handier.
GARMIN Marine repairs/replacements in KH
Aruna Technology is the local distributor, check with them. Opposite the Himawari hotel on Sisowath
No, you missed my point. I need someone who is familiar with garmin, but is not bound by their warranty/repair protocol. Aruna is useless, they require $150+ for postage alone to get the unit to tiawan n back. Think ill start narrowing down the laptop repair shops n go with the nerdiest one I can find in KPSepidemiks wrote:Aruna Technology is the local distributor, check with them. Do you travel to Thailand at all? As you know there's a much more developed boating culture there so I would imagine it would be extremely easy to find in Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.Spud wrote:No, you missed my point. There's GPS shops all over Phnom Penh, perhaps they'd be a better place to start for repair work on garmin gear, than the iPhone repairers.
