Have Cambodian child, K-Visa?
Hey there, I was told by the travel agent today that I am entitled to a K-Visa because I am the parent of a Cambodian child as of course, the Business visas have changed.
I can only find information online that this is true for Cambodians born abroad with different nationalities. Though, he was sure that I do fall under the K category.
Anyone have any other information or experiences to support this? Thanks.

This would actually solve a monster dilemma . Make the K Visa for ;
1 . Children of mixed marriages on a foreign passport. Can stay indefinitely and they would eventually move to a Khmer / dual passport set up anyway
2. Spouses of mixed marriages on a foreign passport. Can stay indefinitely, can work to support the family and support the KOW via taxes etc , cannot buy land.
Where is PSD ?

Following. It would certainly solve a problem for me seeing how my daughter was born a couple of months ago.

OP, if the travel agent told you this, what did you say? Did you say "OK, get me a K visa"? What costs did they mention to you?
I think it is a wind up by a puppet because yes....if you were after a visa and qualified for this potential new K situation if it existed then would you not just attempt it ?Miguelito wrote: OP, if the travel agent told you this, what did you say? I don't think so, based on the sign up info.ricecakes wrote: I think it is a wind up by a puppet
Yea, exactly. Will be interesting to hear.ricecakes wrote:if you were after a visa and qualified for this potential new K situation if it existed then would you not just attempt it ?
I'd heard of this being possible a year or two ago, and was very sceptical about it at the time...never heard of a foreigner actually being issued a K-Type visa just because they have a Cambodian sprog...following.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Imagine, the hoards of riff raff that would immediately start hunting down fertile Khmer women to impregnate, if all thats all was needed for a permanent visa.
I found one, so, following.

Wondering how many folk are sitting in GSM trying to work out the cost of raising a child on the back of a fag packet. Then comparing it to visa, WP cost and hassle.

Congrats! It is amazing to be a dad. Our son is 1 year and four months old. The absolute joy of my life and encouraged me a lot.Hanno wrote:ricecakes wrote:You old German dog you.

I do have an unfortunate update, I spoke to a few others, apparently, it is speculation that there may be some new versions of the K Visa coming out that pertain to this. I swear Cambodia is the only country in the world that doesn't allow spouses or even PARENTS into their country.
