Can Vietnamese own land in Cambodia?
It seems Vietnamese buy alot land on the Cambodian site of the border.
Its true the PM allow that Vietnamese can buy land?
Vietnamese can own land?
If they don’t hold Cambodian citizenship, or purchase via land holding Corp/nominee method, then legally no.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Also, technically, buying property within 20 miles of the Cambodian borders Is banned for reasons of national security. This law definitely doesn’t appear to be enforced.PSD_Kiwi wrote:If they don’t hold Cambodian citizenship, or purchase via land holding Corp/nominee method, then legally no.

There are Vietnamese that buy real khmer IDs for a few under dollars from village chiefs and use them to buy land. Pretty simple method you can just claim to have a khmer parent or grandparent which often required some editing on family books.
Massive crack down on this lately, authorities have been raiding entire communities and confiscating such documents.jackrossi wrote:There are Vietnamese that buy real khmer IDs for a few under dollars from village chiefs and use them to buy land. It almost exclusively applies to the the fake IDs and family books that you can buy for 20$ or less, mostly they impact only poor people not the rich land lords. The police isn't very sophisticated they just check with their registries and family books if the data is correct, if you get the registry itself modified they don't annoy you since they don't really have a way to know. Also those that bought identities from deceased people or had their children registered into someone else family for getting the IDs aren't affected. One of my acquaintances had a child (both Chinese parents) and had they registered the child as born from the Chinese father with a local khmer widow that needed money for 500$. The kid is in the family books and will get an ID in the future. Just as an example of the many shenanigans go on every day in kow.
