Bulk dry oats?
Bulk dry oats?
Looking for bulk dry oats to make oatmeal. The grocery stores want +$5 for very small bags or they only sell fancy stuff premixed with berries or something.
I was hoping one of the bulk rice stores at the local markets would have oats, but alas, only rice.
Anyone seen around town?

you can eat rice for breakfast lunch and dinner
havent eaten oats for decades i guess it was the price that initially put me off but also rice is much lighter on the stomach. oats are more for cold climates
actually these days am eating more noodles than rice
or those baguettes when i can find a good maker not air filled blow away light.
perhaps try the rice porridge with egg and meat balls
they got those bulk type sellers on ground floor of orussey but not sure they got oat. think oats would need a close container. they sell open to air stuff
tell us what you think is a good price and quantity and i'll keep a look out. most days i go shopping in different places because can only carry so much walking about

I have also been looking for some for a while. Best I have found so far is super duper, not exactly bulk but was $2.60 for 510g. A little expensive but they are proper oats rather than instant oatmeal, which is always cheaper

Quite a few places sell packages of one kilogram, but I'm not going to share them now that I know other people have a big appetite for them. They go in and out for stock, so I just buy a few kg whenever I see some. Try Pencil mart on Norodom. They used to have Aussie oats for about 4.5 or something. I don't know of any place that sells them in bulk by the kg.
I'm headed to Bangkok to visit friends next week...wonder what Air Asia will think of a suitcase full of oats!

Going to Bangkok to get your oats, sounds like my kind of trip.

Rolled oats & Quaker oats, 500g-1kg always available in Thai Huot Toul Kork; can't recall the price, but I'm paying the premium it versus eating shitty rice three times a day thanks!

Lucky at Sovanna has some quick and rolled oats, $3ish IIRC. Super store on 1986 does as well but was definitely more expensive than lucky
Just bought, at Thai Huot on St.63, McGarrett Rolled Oats, 1Kg, $3.60. That's a lotta oats. I wish protein powder was as reasonable.
Really? I looked yesterday and didn't see them. Ok, back I go. Thanks.....still going to Bangkok, though!rgrowden wrote:Just bought, at Thai Huot on St.63, McGarrett Rolled Oats, 1Kg, $3.60. That's a lotta oats. I wish protein powder was as reasonable.

What are you paying per pound of protein powder...and just plain whey or you looking for muscle milk or some such stuff?rgrowden wrote:Just bought, at Thai Huot on St.63, McGarrett Rolled Oats, 1Kg, $3.60. That's a lotta oats. I wish protein powder was as reasonable.
