Renting out motorbikes
If you privately rent out a motorbike and the renter damaged or lost it. He/she refused to compensate or pay unfair amount and you don't give back their passport. If they call the cops, will you get into legal trouble?
Did you get a contract with thumbprint?
technically, I believe a pp is not property of the bearer, but of the state, so maybe...

No thumb print, paperwork or anything; just passport as a collateral. I been renting out bikes for the last year, never had any issue. But whenever I rented it out especially a day or 2 this is always worried me. There is some mixed info about temple town on 1 hand it said it is illegal to rent out motorbike to foreigners, on the other hand you see Motorbikes For Rent signs all over town.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
OK, just tell him you lost the passport and you no longer know where it is.
Your room was broken into and you lost all sorts of documents.
So Sorry about the inconvenience.
Same sort of sorry like he was about damaging your bike.
But if he wants to pay for the damage you might ask neighbors, street children, associates to look for the passport and you might be lucky and they find it.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

well just as long as you dont give them any orange juice with the moto it should be ok
so why not just substitute a cash deposit instead or in addition
else you could import a few thai jetski operators to intimidate them

The passport does not belong to the bearer, it belongs to the state. So yes, you will be in big shite.the chicken wrote:If you privately rent out a motorbike and the renter damaged or lost it. Most embassies react strongly to this.
Find another way.
