So i have been to official honda service-center and small motobike-repair shops and all just say no or shake their heads when i try to ask for chain-lube including showing them a picture of a guy lubing his chain.
Do ppl not lube their chains or are they just not bothered to understand what i ask for?
What brand is common in cambodia? Maybe i have more luck if i know exactly what to ask for by its name.
What chain-lube brands for motorbikes in Cambodia?
My brother in law picked up a can of this stuff for me when I asked, not sure where he got it sorry.
On a related note, was at the new Makro yesterday & it stocks WD40 & a bunch of other hardware stuff, I didn't see bike specific stuff there as I wasn't shopping for that, but could be a place to get some yourself. I've also seen bike mechanics back in the UK use it for cleaning chains before, so perhaps that'd also cut it as an alternative? I can only think you'd have to be careful around the brake calipers, etc. Will let bike pros comment on that, I'm a mere noob on all things bike related but thoroughly loving it versus being stuck in traffic, particularly with office & house on opposite sides of PP.

Don’t use WD40 on your chain, especially ones with rubber O rings. It certainly won’t lube it!
To be honest what with all the dust and shit here you’re better off just cleaning it regularly unless it’s enclosed which is much better.
Bigger bikes you’ll need proper lube. Try the barang bike places, Dara, Shed etc.

There is a chance that they just don’t understand what you are asking for.
In Khmer it is:
Sprie Banh Jravat
Loads of roadside (but not all) mechanics will have it. It costs $2.50 to $3 for a small can.
