Airline Ticketing Agents
Can't understand why anyone would want to deal with anything business related over the phone these days, especially when one person will be communicating in a foreign language. My travel agent provides great service, replies to emails within 15 minutes, or is available to chat on messenger.

Because in some circumstances a person has to speak directly with the airline agent.slavedog wrote:Can't understand why anyone would want to deal with anything business related over the phone these days, especially when one person will be communicating in a foreign language. It took me less than 5 minutes to change my seat on a China Airlines flight by calling their office in Phnom Penh directly yesterday. Absolutely no issues, very good English. I've done the same with EVA and China Southern here before.
Otherwise A2Z has always been good agent to deal with.

Not wishing to be argumentative, however.....unless they confirm the change in writing, how can you be sure there are absolutely no issues, until you turn up for the flight?kansaicanuck wrote:It took me less than 5 minutes to change my seat on a China Airlines flight by calling their office in Phnom Penh directly yesterday. They usually send an email confirmation of seat change but not always, it depends. In this case I had actually booked the longer sector of my trip on another airline and thus couldn't change seats online myself for the CI portion. I didn't get an email confirmation. If I had booked the whole trip through them the change would be confirmed I think through their website which can be checked. Of course when I change seats online with the airline I booked the tickets with they sent me an email confirmation with my seat numbers and I confirmed it by checking the reference number online through the website.slavedog wrote:Not wishing to be argumentative, however.....unless they confirm the change in writing, how can you be sure there are absolutely no issues, until you turn up for the flight?kansaicanuck wrote:It took me less than 5 minutes to change my seat on a China Airlines flight by calling their office in Phnom Penh directly yesterday. The five or so times I've called ahead to the local offices to request a seat I always was given that seat without trouble. And usually upon check in, if you are early enough you can also change seats if there is a mix up.
Fair enough, if you are just changing the seats and not the dates I guess it doesn't matter that much.

China Southern was the one I had awful experience with. Vague answers, uninterested in taking ownership of problem, broken promises. Only finally sorted when I went to their office and told them that I was staying there until issue was sorted and i had a confirmation email from them.kansaicanuck wrote:It took me less than 5 minutes to change my seat on a China Airlines flight by calling their office in Phnom Penh directly yesterday.
