Carlsberg beer, I tried the elephant brew one time at a party ladded with blue eyed blondes and gents wearing Hugo Boss suits in Hamburg, and I found it comparable to many a good brew, but it's not trustworthy as a brand around here, Beer Lao goes down well though, but that brewery is 50% communist, so surely confused about what to order here, Anchor draft at 50c seem a good deal on an international scale.

Carlsberg Beer?
Please explain? You forego one of the best beers in the region because of politics. You'll probably have to forego beer altogether in the near future; once the Chinese have bought every business on earth.Beer Lao goes down well though, but that brewery is 50% communist

I was in my quest, in the pursuit of trustworthy brands, not intending to politicize matters.

Carlsberg is in partnership with Cambrew here -- Cambrew is also heavily invested in the Mekong Dam project in Laos. Calls to boycott the beer here were heavy back in 2013 and we're reminded of it every now and again.newnewnewbie wrote:

Cambrew is Malaysian, I am guessing calling those guys first, before a foreign investor would be more beneficial, than trying to boycott Angkor beer, which as a brand, is so heavily vested in the Cambodian culture, in part due to it's name. My local vendor only sports this brand in their cooler, and so the only beer available on a quick note near my domicile, but it is far from the quality of the elephant brew I delved in, once in a youthful moment abroad.

Hey, you're the one who was having morality problem with Beer Laos because you don't like their government, so I simply pointed out where your money is going if you choose to buy Angkor or Carlsberg here -- to fund a dam project in Laos. But don't let inconvenience get in the way of your morals.newnewnewbie wrote:Cambrew is Malaysian, I am guessing calling those guys first, before a foreign investor would be more beneficial, than trying to boycott Angkor beer, which as a brand, is so heavily invested in the Cambodian culture, in part due to it's name. I buy ethically... unless it's too hard.

You are completely misunderstanding my point, on your attack even disregarding my prior comments.
You buy ethically, choosing only the good international conglomerates in your quest for a better world, and society.
May I require which beer is your preferred choice?
Beer Lao is also partly owned by Carlsberg, and I do enjoy the brand, on personal preference of my tastebuds, and not on the basis of ownership, as the Carlsberg brand has proven untrustworthy, around these parts.

I wasn't attacking, just informing. And I also have very low morality and questionable ethics, so I wouldn't use me as a basis.newnewnewbie wrote:You are completely misunderstanding my point, on your attack even disregarding my prior comments.

My preferred beer in Cambodia is Indochine white, which I buy by the case at the brewery. As few bars sell it, I normally order Beer Lao when I'm out, if it's available -- I like that slightly honey taste you get from it. From there I would probably choose Cambodia, Anchor (which I drink on the Hash), and then Angkor. I would never drink Carlsberg here, but have grabbed a Heineken or two when I'm feeling fancy, like when I'm at The Office or something. But let's be honest, I, like most people here, will drink whatever is cold and being offered to us.

Yer a real cunt, RC. It didn't start as a thread about beer. It is a thread about beer in Cambodia. You decided to make it about beer in Vietnam, but didn't start a thread about it. Then you put yer filthy mouth in it and added invitations to Vietnam citing airfares and the lovely Vietnam beers.ricecakes wrote:this thread about sums up 440 these days.

So, yes, you are correct, it ended up a cuntyfucktardfest because of you.
Thank you Ricecakes ... rated R.
