well.... it's that time of the year again when all the Beer Lao disappears.
any one of you well traveled beer aficionado's know where i can buy 10 - 20 cases of it in the bottle.
a few cases of the dark would be nice as well.
where are the larger drink shops now?
i will be in town later today with a truck and would love to stock up.
cheers K440

Funny that. I was in my local shop last night to buy some beer and I noticed that they didn’t have any Laos beer. Had to settle for Tiger.Kampot Homesteader wrote:well.... it's that time of the year again when all the Beer Lao disappears.

They just told me ‘no stock’
Is this a regular thing?

Seems to be. Oskar runs out for a few weeks at a time every now and then, and they told me it was a supply issue.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Funny that. I did see the large format bottles for the first time the other week though, I forget where, might have been Sher-e Punjab 2.

any Beer Lao in phnom penh drink shops? had some on hold but..... you know how that goes.
Anchor 0.5l 7% strong, cold filtered. I was quite pleased with the quality of this beer, bit pricey at $1.50 (Angkor Market) but the taste and texture seemed at par with $3-4 cans back home. It's a nice change from the usual selection out there. If this is locally brewed, it'd be one of the best I have tried. Beer Lao still rules the 0.5l game imho, where a case of 24 will go for $18 atm. at S-liquer = $(0.75/50)*33 ie. less than 50 cents per. glass of 0.33l quality brew.
There seem to be a few more imported beers available now, often advertised on Facebook.
I don't drink a lot of beer at home, preferring wine, but I think I might take a case of Kronenbourg. $38 seems reasonable.
Anyone know if it's imported or brewed here?

Ah, Singapore import, and found it at slightly better price on ye' old FB,
but surely a good deal for quality comparison test, out there in 0.5l land.
I also like it fresh, less than 3-6 months old. Think this batch will do well.
