How Do I Handle this Situation?
Sounds iffy to me.
How can a photo (sealed behind plastic) in a passport become blurred from getting wet. Photos do not become blurred when wet.
Sounds like a dodgy passport.

Are Canadians able to get 3 year visas, even if they're Caucasians?
Savittre, is the pink paper stapled together with the arrival/departure card in you're passport? or not stapled.

Exactly my thoughts...Miguelito wrote:How were you able to enter Thailand by land three times this year? I thought as a Canadian you would be restricted to two entries?

My passport got wet earlier this year (I was in a boat in Ream National Park and it rained heavily). So, my passport photo got blurred.

Do they even still use actual photos in passports? He said his new one was valid till 2025 which suggests it was issued in 2015. I've had biometric modern passports since 2008, and the photograph is etched twice into a piece of plastic. There's no way it would get "blurred" by water damage. It's basically made up of thousands of tiny holes, which would not be affected by water. However, the 3 "one year visas" certainly would. Maybe some countries still issue passports with paper front pages? I don't know.Savittre wrote:Plus, my passport has a microchip which is in good working order, finally, my current passport is valid through 2025.

Cambodian immigration don't worry about damaged passports ffs.
When we re-entered the KOW early this year the officer took a swig of beer before he dealt with us and there were 2 empty cans on the table.

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
didn't somebody post something similar earlier in the year or last year. aren't passport pictures covered over with plastic, i just checked mines, it has a plastic thing over my picture, plus my passport has gotten wet which messed up some of my visa ink, i tried my best to re-ink the dates and stuff back in. i did get a few comments at immigration, i just told them it get wet, and they let me through.

He has been lurking on the forum but not posting since this thread. He was caught out and is too embarrassed to reply.

they do if the only "open" page left in your passport has a small little ink mark that was made from a stamp bleeding through from a facing page.spitthedog wrote:Cambodian immigration don't worry about damaged passports ffs.

happened to me several years ago and was forced to get a new passport sooner then i had planned. plus, once i figured in the overstay it was cheaper to go to vietnam for a month and faster to get my new passport there.
so they may not worry top much, but if they see an opportunity to make a few bucks, in this case by overstay charges, they might mess with you.
Strange that several posts questioning the OP (none of them inflammatory) have disappeared from this thread.
